Does my whole lawn and plenty of charge left takes me about 1/2 hr to mow. Light and hangs on the wall.

Like many, I did my research and the mower got a little trashed for how long it lasted. The knuckleheads doing the tests lived out in the country and were trying to mow multiple acres including waist-high, thick grass in their drainage ditch. That’s not my small, urban yard. I can easily get four mows before charging. Better yet, you can reuse those expensive batteries with your other tools. A huge bonus is how the mower folds up and requires so little storage space. One of the benefits of living in the country and having a large yard is that you should get to mow it with your tractor.

I will start off by saying that the run time will last longer if you don’t let your grass get 4 inches or taller. My employer bought this last summer because we have a good size court yard and didn’t want gas products coming through the building to get to it.First time was a test to see how far it would get. grass was about 4 inches tall so the batteries only made it through 3/4 way then i switched batteries to finish. I mowed again 5 days later not near as tall. Batteries lasted the entire time.So height is definitely a factor for battery usage. Take note that mulching will drain batteries quicker and watch for grass coming out of the bottom of mower. That is a sign that bag is full and will also drain battery because it is like mulching. Emptying bag will help batteries last longer. Takes less than 15 seconds to empty.

I’m a Believer! As a bona fide skeptic, I had serous doubts as to the reliability of a battery-powered lawnmower. Not any more! The DeWalt 20 inch DCMW220X2 model 20-volt Max Lithium-Ion Cordless Walk Behind Push Mower (with TWO 9.0 Ah batteries & charger included), however, is truly a cut above. Right out of the box (I read the entire straightforward and logical owner’s manual) it was a piece of cake to assemble. Without even having to use any tools, it took me less than three minutes to complete. The upper handle knobs and lower handle locks that securely attached the entire handle assembly were a no-brainer. Attaching the bag and mulching insert was even simpler. That said, the mower does a superb job for its class. It has plenty of power to spare. It comes with nifty features; such as: it saves $$$ not having to buy or store gas and oil; there are front and rear carrying handles for lifting; it has a one-handle mower height adjustment lever that makes raising or lowering the cutting deck height — child’s play; there are fewer places like narrow crevices for grass clippings to cling to than a typical gas-powered mower; there is no fuel-related mess or spillage, ever; it comes equipped with a nice long and comfortable main bail handle combo; it comes with a large light-touch on/off switch & clever safety key; it has never-flat tires that never need lubricating, and grass doesn’t cling to them as much as it does on other mowers; the main body will never rust; it fits nicely into small areas because of its small footprint; getting to the cutting blade is much easier than most because of the lighter weight of the machine and because spilling fuel is never an issue; installing the batteries is simple and yet secure; and it’s designed for practical storage by taking up a minimal amount of floor space. My wife, who is a petite 5’3″ and a mere 120 pounds, liked it too. Her first impression was how easy it was to handle, and how well it performed. “Starting and stopping the mower,” she enthusiastically noted, “was so much easier than the gas-powered counterpart.” The mower really is “light on its feet.” To illustrate: I own a John Deere lawn tractor and a Toro self-propelled Walk-Behind mulching mower as well, and have roughly 3/4’s of an acre of dense Bermuda and Fescue grass from which to deal with; so I know the value of having good tools. To make matters even more challenging, I have dozens of large and small trees and shrubs to navigate around. Having a smaller more maneuverable mower, therefore, is as important as it is necessary. The DeWalt mower, consequently, is truly a blessing. Not only is it lightweight, it finely mulches grass without leaving unsightly clumps, as well as collecting nasty yard debris with the bag attachment. It’s impressive. In fact, the added weight while using the bagger actually serves to help produce smooth wheel imprint lines for those who enjoy lawn-striping aesthetics. But because I was eager to put this mower to the test, I also used it on large open areas, including sloped areas and deep gullies. Even after 68 minutes of mowing an area in my front yard of around 6,000 square feet, it still had a charge. When I used it a second time on a different spot, I couldn’t help but to notice how all the indicator lights were still fully illuminated after roughly 25 minutes of running. Two thumbs up for making the grade without having to reach for more batteries or wait to recharge the ones that came with the mower. In sum, the pros far outweigh the non-existent cons. It is also a much quieter than gas-powered mowers, and a cinch to keep clean. Two thumbs up. I couldn’t be more pleased with this product; which reminds me, the 9 Ah batteries are awesome! They recharge quickly too. The only “negative” I can honestly say about this (pleasant surprise) DeWalt lawnmower is that it includes a single bay battery charger, which only allows one battery to be charged at a time. Luckily I have additional DeWalt chargers, but it would be nice to have a single unit to charge both. As a suggestion, it would be convenient to have an additional removable internal bag accessory for adding sand (for ballast) to place inside the mower’s primary bag when the mulching insert plug is installed. The reason is to allow superior lawn-striping to those who pride themselves on the resulting appearance. A water bottle holder or cell phone clamp to attach to the handle would be nice as well. NOTE: Our lawns, especially on the north side of the property, usually accumulates a thick layer of dew each morning that can last well past noon before it fully evaporates. Knowing this, and despite temperatures being higher, I usually wait until later in the afternoon to begin mowing to minimize clogging or clumping. This makes the mower performance much more efficient and the visual results superior. It also works well just before sunset. What’s more, I always use the weed-wacker trimmer FIRST because it tosses the odd sized clippings out to where they can be mulched with the regular grass for a cleaner/neater finishing touch. On average, and during the peak growing season, our lawn needs to be mowed twice a week to prevent it from getting out of control. The more it rains, though, the more difficult it gets; so staying on top of it really matters. This mower is, when all is said and done, well-suited to handle average size lawns, and is an excellent tool for making the task of cleaning up difficult areas painless. Those who live in the city or throughout suburbia should love it. Well done DeWalt!

Easy to order and track shipment. This is a harder package to find because I wanted this package with higher capacity batteries. The product so far has been excellent and it’s well built. It’s not self propelled so you do have to push it.

This mower is absolutely amazing! I must be honest, my expectations were low. I was very skeptical of a battery powered mower. This changed my mind!Pros:-Ergonomics are fantastic. The angle and length of the hand rail make this a very comfortable mower to use.-The light weight makes the mower very convenient for moving. The incorporated handles were perfect for lifting the mower in and out of my wife’s SUV.-Battery Endurance. This is the biggie as far as I am concerned. And this mower shined. I live in a town house, so it’s not much of a feat, but I also have a mother in law with a half acre backyard. This mower, on one charger, took care of BOTH my lawn and my mother in laws lawn. I was absolutely amazed!Cons-the one and only con I have is the charger. The mower runs on 2 batteries at a time; however, the supplied charger only charges one at a time. For the price it would seem you should be able to charge both batteries at the same time. All in all I would give this mower 4.5 stars. Really a great product!

I am used gas motors. Having to clean the carburetor out every spring. Batteries are always ready to go. Cuts nice. They only thing I would change is the wheels. They seem wobbly and brittle.

Pleasantly surprised by this mower’s power and cut quality. It mulched through longer grass without bogging down the way my gas-powered mower does, and it still cut very consistently. It’s also very light and easy to push. Handles on top of the deck are a nice addition to help move and store the mower. The padded grip is also nice compared to my previous mower. On the down side I was not able to finish my entire yard on a single charge of the 2x 9AH batteries. My yard is a fairly large suburban lot and the grass was long, so this isn’t entirely unexpected. I completed the entire front and a portion of the back only before running out of power. It’s possible that one additional set of batteries, or mowing the front and back on different days, would be sufficient to get the job done. I’ll try one of these during the next mow.

I got this mower about a month ago, had used it several times, the mower is great. the first thing I notice is how light the mower is to push, and you can adjust the high too, I have used other push mowers before, but DeWALT definitely make this right. With the included Flexvolt batteries, I got about 40 minutes of run time. I think if you cut your lawn often, you should be about to get about 1 hr run time. I have also use this to cut an overgrown lawn, with grass reach over a foot. I must say the engine is very powerful, its comparable to 80v battery powered mower on the market or even gas mowers. It will stall when the grass is too tall, but the gas power mower also stalls. with the easy start, I was able to get the job done faster. the folding handle and the handles on the mower made moving and transporting the mower much simpler, its those small things that makes the mower great than just good.

I have owned the lawn mower for a couple of months and use it as a trim mower around my yard. I run it for about a half hour and have not run the batteries down below the 25% indicator. I have not used the bagging attachment so I can’t speak to that portion of the design. The mower itself appears to be very rugged, cutting height adjustment is easy. The mower comes assembled except for the handle which only takes a few minutes to put in place. This is replacing a mower that was used for 20 years so it had real expectations to live up to and did not disappoint. Sharpen the blade is the only maintenance – no gas or oil or seasonal care makes it a good deal for me. I already own a variety of DeWalt 20V tools so being able to recharge both batteries at the same time is not an issue for me.

The best lawn mower that I’ve ever bought, no oil,no gas, just take it out of the box & charge up the two batteries; then put them in and mow the lawn! I do my front yard; charge the batteries & then I can do my backyard. Love how you can see your battery power all lit up so you know when to charge.

Very good performance with battery life on 2 9ah batteries at about 40 minutes. Have not achieved the “up to 55 minutes”, but have a second set of batteries so no problem.Handles are a bit on the long side, so turning in tight areas is limited.Using this mostly over sloped rough country, tall grasses, so a self propelled version would be welcomed.

This lawnmower is probably perfect for most suburban quarter-acre lots. The key is the 2 x 9 Ah batteries. The package with 2 x 5Ah batteries would be adequate for most lawns.I happen to a have a number of other DeWalt tools, batteries, and fast chargers, and actually was looking to buy 2 x 9Ah batteries which run about $280 for the pair. The mower and batteries was $500 at my local HD so the mower was $220.It is lighter than I expected, so while not self propelled it is lighter than a gas mower. It is likewise quieter b/c you don’t have the combustion engine noise. It cut some very tall, wet grass as well as my Honda gas mower. The kicker is that the mower stores vertically, saving valuable storage space in the garage. Also the mower has two convenient handles for loading.
