The DCP580B features a brushless motor for maximum efficiency The DCP580B features a brushless motor for maximum efficiency that helps to maintain speed under load. The brushless planer features a 3-1/4 in. width capacity and ability to adjust depth at 1/256 in. adjustments with a rebate capacity of 5/64 in. The planer weighs 6.8 lbs. and operates on the DEWALT 20V MAX* battery system. Lightweight and cordless, the planer can be easily transported around the jobsite without the hassle of a cord. The DCP580 is sold as a bare tool.

It works great, but I have to admit Dewalt is making it more and more difficult to find replacement parts. The tool has a compartment for extra blades. Where is the part number for extra blades??? I have some scratches on the front and rear shoes already, where are the part numbers for just the metal shoes???

Again Dewalt does an outstanding job on this product. yes it does not come with a bag because it would fill it so fast you would be dumping it every 30 seconds. I put a vacuum attachment on it and it work just fine. it leaves a butter smooth finish. it has plenty of power to do the job. I also used the fence that came with it. I will be using this tool for a long time to come.

I bought this to plane down some joists on a porch that were milled abnormally. This thing did the job and did it well. No bogging down even on the deepest setting and no clogs in the dust port. If this one ever dies I’ll buy another.

I bought this planer to add to my 20V tools. I was worried it would not have enough power but I was wrong. It is a great hand planer. I had two other corded planers I sold as this is the only one I use now. Easy controls, light weight, plenty of run time, and good power! It continues to give me high respect for my 20V DeWalt line…. I have my eye on a few more 20v replacements for some of my corded tools. I doubt I will ever buy a corded hand tool again. The cordless have improved greatly over the years!

excellent tool, works very well. light, strong and comfortable. the only negative point I found was the machine did not have an appropriate box. in fact I miss the boxes, almost all the machines do not come with boxes, only bags, which I do not even use.

Best decision I made buying this tool.I love power tools in general and work with one brand of power tools .But I also owned specialty power tools in two other different brands and this would be my third Dewalt I owned and I’ve had it for 3 weeks and used it on 3 different job sites, planed about 25 doors and haven’t had an issue .To early to really give a good review but all in all it’s a great tool by Dewalt.
