Safety first, the most dangerous thing about battery powered tools is their bite is much worse than their bark. Just because it is not loud doesn’t mean it can not remove fingers. Please be careful. Does it cut? yes big stuff, and little stuff this tool will cut it. I jammed the blade cutting a larger limb, I removed the battery, pryed the blade to move it and was back in business. I set the unit on a vise and put a charged 4Ah batttery (1 year old) and clamped down the trigger. It ran for an hour, straight, then I took the tool out and cut shrubs with it. There was no battery heat. The motor however was too hot to touch-not really a suprise given the run time. The tool fits in hand well given the fact that it designed to do a job at arms length.

Head is not stable.. because pole and head have backlash

Got this about 3 weeks ago and its been great. Got a head start on a bunch of bushes before they fill in and havnt had any issues. Its way more light weight compared to the attachments for a string trimmer. Very easy to use and you can change from straight to a 90° angle easily. The blades are sharp and didnt get hung up at all even on thicker branches. The best part is no starting issues or using gas… just pull the trigger and go…also has a safety switch to keep kids from mistakenly running the saw.

I was finally able to test out my Dewalt 20v Max pole trimmer and I love it. Not only does it pair perfectly with my Dewalt weed eater and blower, this unit is super simple to use. Insert the battery, disengage the safety, and start trimming. The harness that comes with it is a great new feature that ensures safe operation while trimming those hard reach areas. The multi-adjusting head is a great feature but I wish there was zero wiggle room once it was locked into place. Super sharp blade cuts like a dream. Overall, this is the perfect battery powered trimmer to tackle your trimming needs.

One thing I would like to mention before getting into the review is that in my honest opinion i do not think this tool was designed for heavy commercial use. However, if you are a home owner with lots of hedges and youre trimming them every so often or even if you have a few properties with hedges to trim this would be a great tool for the job so please keep that in mind when reading the remainder of the review. It is a dewalt brand tool obviously and in my experience you always get a great product from them. It is well built and designed for the most part, not extremely heavy, it has great reach, the angle is variable and is easy to change on the go. If you are already in the dewalt tool platform you obviously do not need to worry about run time although you will get a good hour or more of run time out of just one battery. I was also very impressed with how smooth the blades run.I would like to mention the breakdown and storage of it. The tool comes apart in the middle so it can be stored or carried in two relatively equal sized pieces and it could fit in the tool box of a truck fairly easy depending on the size of your tool box. It is also assembled back together very easily. Now, I would like to mention a con of the product. The blade head does have a lot of “play” or wiggle in it. When held out at a distance and shaken a little there is a significant amount of movement. Is this a problem? Most of the time I do not think so. For one thing, you arent going to be shaking it back and forth when cutting with it and the resistance the hedges put into the tool when cutting will keep it still. Also (as with any tool) practice and use over time will result in better or more even cuts. Overall I think this is a great tool for homeowners.

I bought this trimmer to knock down infestation of blackberry bushes. I am not disappointed. It will run for 45 minutes on a charge. Battery charges in just under 2 hours. Limb size is as advertised; one inch in diameter. Takes a little time, but get through. Close limbs large limbs I could reach , quicker to use looper. Hard to reach big one, use the trimmer.

Seems put together well. Have not used it yet. Thanks

The cutting assembly has more wobble than I would expect from Dewalt. I tried as much as I could to tighten the screw which clamps the cutting unit in place and it still has enough play to be annoying.

Purchased unit and used immediately.this is very sharp.cut my hand pulling sheath off.lol.worked great.unit it rather heavy for an old man but did notice when I took out the 2ah battery and installed the 5ah battery it did help to balance unit.i have only used once but exceeded my expectations.appears to built of quality materials.as of this time I would highly recommend.

I got this tool and no longer need a ladder to work on my 9 foot high bushes. This tool is perfect for reaching high bishes without a ladder. The only down side is working on waist high bushes/ shrubs. The head is a bit heavy while working on waist high bushes but other than that. I would highly recommend this tool.

This device is great… makes the trimming of bushes and small trees much easier. The battery lasts a good amount of time, but I did have to use 2 of them for everything in my yard (which is quite a lot),

This trimmer is very sharp and cuts neatly. It has a good reach but be prepared for a heavy tool. It comes with a strap that helps with balancing.

I am completely satisfied with this hedge trimmer. It is much lighter than a cordless trimmer that I have been using, and it performed flawlessly on trimming several tall hedges that I cut recently. It has great power, and the battery never ran down while I was using it.

Very lightweight with excellent cutting ability and dependability.

Given the unit a nice try out in my yard. Works well! However, I think the 1″ cutting is optimistic. My experience is up to 5/8″ on woody stems. Also note that “Up to 12′ max reach” does NOT mean that the handle extends. It does not extend beyond its fixed 7′ length.

This thing did exactly what I needed it to do with such ease and saved me alot of time
