This 20-Volt MAX brushless cordless oscillating multi-tool includes a universal accessory adaptor and 2 wood cutting blades to help get your project started. The DCS354 cordless oscillating multi-tool has a powerful brushless motor providing up to 57% more run time over a similar brushed tool. The Quick-Change accessory system allows you to change blades quickly and easily and with the universal accessory adaptor, it’s compatible with most oscillating tool accessories. The DUAL-GRIP variable speed trigger provides ultimate speed and application control. The DEWALT oscillating tool guide system allows you to customize the depth or height for accurate repeatability and the bright LED light illuminates dark work spaces. The DCB240 20-Volt MAX 4 Ah compact lithium-ion battery provides the highest capacity within the DEWALT 20-Volt MAX compact battery lineup. The quick blade attachment feature is a little awkward at first. Lining the hole up to the prongs. However the blade stayed in place throughout the use of the tool.The tool worked great. Much better than my corded version.

I got this tool as the free tool in the battery/charger/bag promotion. I used the tool to cut the door moldings around a bathroom door while tiling the floor and it worked great. It is much more convenient to use than my other corded oscillating tool. Blade changes are tool-less and easy. I’m liking this tool a lot. With the addition of this tool, I doubt I will ever need the corded one again!

I like it and recommend it. I’ve owned it about 1 year. PROS: (1) Operates very well. (2) Blade changing mechanism is fast and accepts blades from multiple manufacturers whose connection designs vary. MUCH better than my old Fein tool that needed an allen wrench!! (3) Blade orientation (the angle the blade makes with the axis of the tool) is fast to adjust. (4) Ergonomics are good / fits well in the hand when operating with a grip like you’re shaking hands. CONS: (1) While ergonomics is good as noted in the #4 Pro note, if you operate it with the tool on its side or upside down where you have to grip it differently, the ergonomics are bad and the battery can get in the way. Milwaukee’s tool is much better that way. That’s not a deal-killer for me, (2) DeWalt blades are expensive! Not an issue with the tool, but jus’sayin’! Glad you can use other brand blades!!

I had $150 worth of Home Depot gift cards from last Christmas and my birthday in May (my family knows what to get me). I held off using them until I figured out what I really wanted. I decided to spend them on this DeWalt oscillating tool as I will be helping my son renovate a 1930s house this fall/winter and I know sometimes there are oddball times when we’ll need something like this. I liked that it was brushless, which should save on battery life and that you don’t need a special tool to change blades. I already had 2 batteries for my DeWalt cordless drill, so I saved some money buying the tool only. It came with 2 blades, a bi-metal blade and an HSC blade (?) apparently good for wood. I wanted to repair the brick moulding trim on my garage door by cutting out the rotten area and cutting a new piece to fit instead of replacing the whole piece. So I cut out the bottom 10″ with this oscillating tool without removing the trim on each side of the door (see photo). It cut right thru and it was nice to be able to control the speed with the trigger. It has a lot of power if you really squeeze the trigger! It was easy to control, too, and I got a nice clean even cut along my pencil line. The only neg I had was that the handle that you squeeze to change the blade is right where you want to hold onto the tool to make your cut. This might cause problems (broken blade maybe?) if you accidentally squeeze it too hard while you’re cutting. I realized what I was doing and put my hand beneath the lever after that. Just something to be aware of. Maybe DeWalt could possibly come up with another way to keep the release out of the way when you’re using the tool. All in all, though, despite its cost, I think I have added a good tool to my arsenal.

First and foremost, I’d like to clarify that I am writing a review for the DRILL, and not the OSCILLATING tool. For whatever reason, the two items are mixed and the reviews may not be as accurate with its rating. All my other Dewalt tools are brushless, and this was the first brushed tool I purchased. Although I can see how it might be “overworking” the brushed drill when I’m drilling holes, I still think the driver drill is one of those exceptions where it’s okay to purchase a cheaper model. It was a great deal, so I had to get my hands on the 2 batteries and a tool bag included.

Great tool! I needed to replace the vanity sink and it was glued down and I didn’t want to buy a new vanity. This DeWalt Atomic oscillating tool worked like a charm and I was able to cut through the glue and get the sink top off and save the vanity cabinet.
