My first router, but certainly lived up to expectations. easy to set up and use, and even with moderately priced bits, cut very cleanly.

Bout that for my dad, he has been building houses from the ground up for. 40 years n he loves this small router. 1 handed operation n the led light is a nice touch. Thanks dewalt for making a great tool

very smooth operation with this tool

This compact router is nice and light, which was idea for making juice grooves and putting chamfers on several cutting boards. It was a life saver when I had a hand injury and the larger router was too difficult to maneuver with only one hand.

I have a corded compact router and after buying one it was my go to router for mortising door hinges and doing round overs on things like table tops or porch hand rails. But after a while dragging the extension cord over your shoulder on a 12 foot piece of wood gets inconvenient and causes starts and stops burning the wood. I saw this router and it was part of a promotional kit with batteries, a charger and a bag and I jumped on it. Not having a cord on a tool like this makes it truly versatile. If you look at online videos comparing cordless trim routers the Dewalt always comes out close to or at the top of the list for power, amount of material it can cut per amp hour, plate size for stability and ergonomics in adjustability. Also, the plunge base that fits Dewalts corded compact router WILL work with this, and it’s next on my list. If you aren’t invested in another battery platform I’d go for this guy in a heartbeat.

Love the portability of this compact cordless router

This trim router is even better than the corded model which is also very good. The motor brake is so much safer than the long wind down that most routers take to stop spinning.Randy

Surprisingly powerful and no cord allows me to use it in places otherwise impossible. Able to do a quick touch-up or a project in place without disassembling it and taking it to a shop. 5ah battery is a good balance for me, but coworker prefers the 6ah.

This router is well balanced. I am amazed at how long and the amount of work I can produce with 5Ah battery powing the tool.

Love it! Only drawback is that the base does not accept a guide bushing nor other attachments (edge guide, circle beam). I will need to buy third party or make my own base for these.
