I was on the fence for a while, but I am glad I purchased this saw. It is very convenient, saves time, and makes clean cuts that dont distort the metal. I use it mainly on 1/4” plate and angle iron, and i find that I use it more often than my cutoff saw. The battery life is fine for what I use it for. I end up pulling the battery for my angle grinder anyway since that is the juice hog. Only complaint is that there is no adjustment for bevel cuts

PURCHASED LAST SPRING was not sure how it would hold up, as was the disappointment with much more expensive brand, this little wonder works great and I have put it to the test, sheet metal, I have personally cut 1/2″ x 6″ plate stock and it cut some more round bar , I’ve used up 3 blades and by no means disappointed in performance , if you need to cut it and circular saw would fit the cut then this is the tool, if it would fail at this point of ownership I would certainly get another just like it, it is a keeper and I can’t recommend it enough , I am impressed with the labor it has saved me, just please wear gloves and safety glasses those little metal chips can get you as you make the metal scream for mercy

I am an electricain who uses this to cut conduit. Its a very fast cutting tool. And it cuts it conduit straight with less work. Unlike other saws which require careful handling in order to cut straight pipe. This saw cuts it straight with out all the hassle.

I used this to cut 0.300 plate steel. Cut 2 foot wide pieces with only about 1 minute per cut. Perfect edge. I only had the 3.0 ahr battery so it would only make 2 cuts but battery. Still a lot faster and less expensive than other methods. This saw goes way beyond my expectations.

I received the saw kit not long ago, and have done a fair amount of cutting with it. The saw has plenty of power,extra batteries, charger, and a nice case are certainly a plus. The build quality is typical DeWalt, pretty solid except for one thing. In the advertised features it claims that the shoe to guard the blade is metal. It is NOT, at least on mine anyway. It a a poly like material that has a sheet metal type of edge on it. Most people know that saws of this type regardless of metal or wood will get set down on the shoe about 90% of the time. I personally have returned saws that are like this and went with another brand. If there is a good reason it needs to be a plastic, I’m OK with that, but do NOT say it is one thing when it is really something else. I have contacted DeWalt about the issue, but have not heard back from them. I did ask a question on this site about this, and the response from some so called DeWalt “expert” said it WAS metal. So to this “expert” I suggest they take a stroll out into the warehouse and open a few boxes of this model, see what they find out. In my contact with DeWalt I suggested they take the description of the “metal shoe” OUT of the advertising, since it is simply not true. Other than that it’s nice. Was tempted to return it, but will keep it until I find something better.
