While I would recommend this product, I was suprised how much heavier it is than the older model 18V reciprocating saw I was replacing. Bare tool to bare tool, this saw is a whopping 3 pounds heavier than the 18v model. (Model DW-938, circa 1997) When adding the battery, an 18V for the old saw and a 4AH 20V for the new saw, the new model is still 1 pound, 2 ounces heavier, quite amazing. Performance wise, I’m not sure the newer model is that much better than the older model. New batteries, and, in theory, more efficient power, should lengthen the operating time from a charge, but working with this tool day in and day out could be problematic due to the weight. Features that I like, though, include an LED light that shines on the cutting surface and a quick release lever for changing the saw blades. Overall, a pretty good, but heavy saw.

I can not wait to use this reciprocating saw,I have been wanting one for a while now and now I have it.It is just the tool but I will buy the charger and battery and a few more blades probably this week.My wife talked me into getting this and as long as it keeps my wife happy then I am also happy.We definitely going to put this to use. I do love the Dewalt brand also.Thank you Home Depot and .Dewalt.

This 20/60-volt 6-amp hour battery is very versatile. It is not as heavy as my 9-amp hour battery that I have in my circular saw so if I don’t have a lot of cutting to do it is the better of choice because it doesn’t weigh as much. Also, when I have lot of drill or impact driver work to do it provides me with all of the power I need and to run these tools for a much longer time than the battery they come with. I like having the green LEDs available on the back of the battery so I can check the level of charge left in the battery. The charger works well, is quick and the indicator lights let me know how the status of the battery.The only complaint that I have is the packing of the battery and charger in an excessive amount of really hard to cut plastic seems unnecessary. A person could get hurt unpacking the battery and charger.

It’s so nice to not drag a cord around to get the job done. Plenty of power. It is a little heavy than I expected but that’s not a problem. I bought a tree pruning blade for it and it is a lot easier to use and safer then a chainsaw.

This kit is awesome. Battery is a kid and lasts a long time. Fits flawless in any 20v tool as you can see. The battery can be charged in the older 20v charger or the one with the battery. The new charger can also charge the older 20v batteries. This makes an excellent addition to any Dewalt user. Will become exceptionally useful when using it in the new 60v string trimmer in the spring. Having my old charger in the garage with the new one in the shed is a real time saver and not have to constantly swap out batteries upon completion.

This battery and charger works great in a variety of my DeWalt tools. Really nice that it works in both my 20v and 60v tools. The charger has large and bright indicator lights and quickly charges this battery. The cord is a nice length and I find the run time on a charge to be very sufficient for my needs. Battery came fully charged ready to use right out of the package!

Let’s start off with, I like this saw! I own many Dewalt 20v tools and this one is going right in the tool box. As with all my Dewalt tools , the batteries are interchangeable and offer ample power for the tool. The tool is brushless which will give me long life and zero maintenance of the motor. There is a pop up switch at the top make it easy to change blades. I like the LED light in the front to offer a extra lighting to the location to be cut. The tool is really not that heavy and has nice rubber gripping surfaces. If you are looking for a quality recipricating saw, look no further, this is the saw you need.
