Just opened the box for the bare tool – usually that means no battery or charger. Come to find out, it also means there’s no track for the track saw. Huh? Very disappointed that I’ve got to jump through hoops to make the saw functional.

Super easy to use. Just plug in a battery and put down on a track. Very power full. Smooth motion to lower the blade and adjust cut depth.

This cuts just as cleanly and accurately as my four other track saws, but has several features that make it worth consideration. For one thing, it is less expensive than my premium teutonic tools. Moreover, the tracks and accessories are less expensive. And the DeWalt trigger-style track clamps are far easier to use than other brand’s clamps with the twist style screws. So, for convenience alone, that’s a clear win for DeWalt.Of course, this is a cordless tool, which depending on your needs may be an advantage or not. If you work solely in a shop, then you might not need the cordless feature. Since I often do volunteer work on site, cordless tools are a boon to efficiency. They not only get the job done faster, because I save set-up and tear-down time, but I work safer with no cords to trip over. One unique feature of the DeWalt tracks saws is the two-sided chip-strip. All other track saws have only ONE side with the zero-clearance strip that prevents chip-out. ONLY DeWalt designed theirs to have BOTH sides of the track with those rubber strips. If one gets damaged, you can just turn the track around and keep working. That happened to me this summer when an apprentice used the rail as a cutting guide and sliced the rubber strip with a utility knife. For any other saw, I would have had to spend time replacing the strip before work could continue. The other unique feature I have seen only on DeWalt saws is, the anti-kickback button. It does more than prevent kickback, which is plenty useful when cutting wet or green wood. It can actually hold the saw on the vertical sloped track. That’s especially useful when using the saw on sloping roofs for valley and rafter cuts. But I have found another great use for that!I engage the anti-kickback whenever I use this for my homemade panel saw! That allows forward movement for cutting, but prevents the saw slipping down the (nearly) vertical track.I like the case too, but found you must be careful when placing everything back inside. The saw is fitted to the case so closely, you must be sure to get it ALL the way into the molded foam pads on the bottom. Otherwise, the lid won’t close. As stated, I have four other tracks saws by the other big brands. ALL of those use thin plastic inserts in their cases. DeWalt uses thick molded foam that actually conforms to the tool, the battery and charger very securely. I think that is BETTER than the expensive teutonic tools’ systainer style cases. So, if you are considering a track saw, remember to give this one serious thought. It costs less. The accessories cost less but are just as good; and in the case of the clamps much better, faster and easier. It cuts just as well as the others, but has the center guide strip and TWO zero clearance anti-chip strips instead of one like all other brands. That plus the anti-kickback feature sold me. I am not knocking the other brands. Those are good too. But THIS saw is my go-to choice for site work because of it’s unique features no other track saw has. That, plus the impressive lasting power of the 60 volt battery sold me

Bought this track saw to use in place of a table saw for cutting sheet goods. The saw works fantastic for cutting. Handles 1.5″ thick plywood no problem. Cuts are clean and straight every time. However, when I got this saw, thought it was defective. Right out of the box the saw would not plunge past the lock point for changing the blade. Tried all sorts of pushing, pulling, etc to get it to work Ended up checking google, and came across a youtube vid showing how to pull the handle apart and lube the pivot point for the thumb lock. Once I did this, saw worked perfectly.

The saw feels as powerful as a corded saw. I’ve done around 280 linear feet of cutting in ⅝” plywood on one charge and the battery charges relatively fast. I’m able to use it all day on jobs with a single charge. The stock blade is very good and after cutting about 800 linear feet, a cleaning with acetone made it like new. The carbide seems to be holding up really well and I doubt I’ll need to have it sharpened any time soon with regular cleanings. Having a double sided track is a very nice feature for quickly lining up cuts. I’ve been cutting on an insulating foam board and using my cordless DeWalt vac with decent success for dust collection. It leaves some chips but not a lot and does well at removing the finer particles. The vac hose on my DeWalt cordless vac doesn’t fit this saw or my DeWalt cordless miter saw which have the same size dust port. An adapter or some 1mm thick O-rings work well enough along with an extension hose. The miter saw dust bag also collects pretty well on this track saw but is best for outdoor use and just keeping the working surface somewhat clean. I’ve used some other brands of track saws and prefer the plunge action of this saw as I feel like plunges the blade into the surface in a way that is less likely to cause any kickback. I like that the slide adjustment sets can be locked to a setting with with a hex tool or with a slot blade screwdriver. I like that there’s a riving knife feature on this tool along with the antikickback feature and the handles are really well executed ergonomically. The blade brake seems really fast and the blade change is easy after doing it once. The depth set adjustments are easy to work with, as accurate as they need to be and the scale accounts for the track. I frequently work with metric measurements so I wish the depth scale had a metric option but that’s not a big problem. I do wish there were a positive stop on the bevel adjustment at 45 degrees but that’s easy enough to get perfect with the saw in blade change position and a framing square. I would buy this again.

I was tired of fighting sheet goods. What a breeze to setup and use. Making accurate cuts again and again brings a smile to my face. Combined with my other DeWalt tools all using the same batteries I am always charged and ready to fix or build anywhere.

Excellent Saw!! For trimming doors in place it’s awesome and the tracks are really wide and accurate for breaking down full sheets. Give yourself a couple min to fine tune the adjustment on the saw to ride perfectly on the track. Bought the 59” and the 102” track. Awesome set up!!

This is a dreamy device. I upgraded from the old 28V tracksaw and boy what a difference! It powers thru better than the corded IMO.

easy to set up, good straight splinter free cuts, great when no electric is available.

Having owned the corded track saw for last couple of years, I was excited to see the cordless version come out. Wow, talk about taking an already excellent product and making it better! Dropping the cord and powering with 60v batteries was a perfect addition to this system. Well done!

Tons of power and precision. I’ve never owned a track saw before and getting a cordless one seemed like a risk. The 60V power system on the DeWalt tools is exceptional: lots of options for voltage and capacity. I had no problems using the saw to cut through several 2” thick walnut boards.

The DeWalt Cordless Track Saw works great. It has the power to cut thicker boards without the hassle of a cord to get in the way.

Works awesome. Very glad I purchased. Home Depot did a great job shipping promptly.

Great power and easy to use! Unlike several other track saws that I’ve used, the 45 degree bevel came perfectly tuned right out of the box.
