The DEWALT 20-Volt Cut-Out Tool is ideal for making cuts in acoustical ceiling tile, drywall and even plywood. This tool’s bright LED illuminates dark work surfaces for accurate cutting when overhead lighting is limited or nonexistent. The DCS551B is powered by a 20-Volt Max lithium-ion battery (sold separately) and backed by a 3-year limited manufacturer warranty for added peace of mind.

My entry level Dewalt drill with 1500 rpms was struggling with drywall screws into 2x4s. I’m doing a complete kitchen remodel. No problem with 3” star head screws in 2x4s through the new cabinets. Impressive strength. Wish I bought earlier during my remodel.

The screw gun worked as expected and is lighter than I expected, since I own the corded version. It took a while to adjust the screw set depth, which on the corded version seemed easier. Overall a good tool if you have a lot of Gyp Board to hang.

I had to go to two stores to get it.The sales associate at the Hoover store was very helpful and even called the Pelham store for me.The associate at the Pelham store said they did not have any when Hoover called .I stopped by on the way home anyhow and they had them just not at the display

When using drywall stilts on a jobsite, I hated having cords from cut out tools and strip fed drywall screw guns. This had the same power as the corded and along with the cordless screwgun and strip magazine attachment, I enable to maintain capacity and capability while keeping a cord free floor. The quick change feature was an issue until we changed our method to hold the twist lock stationary and turn the tool instead (works with old fat fingers but strong full hand grip). The guard is the same as ever other style, so no wow factor for comparison. This tool NEEDS to be sold with a hook since cordless is meant to be with you for convenience, especially for stilt walkers, lost a star for that having to be separate purchase even when sold as kit. Had it for 4 years with no issues, cleaning it off daily before going back in the work bag.
