Works well with wall applications but not for ceiling. I bought it for both and found out very quickly that using for recessed lighting cuts is very messy with drywall dust blowing in your face. If you stand further away you can’t see the cut line and the tool gets squirrelly.

I have a dozen different DeWalt cordless tools. I have been eased with all of them. This drywall drill did not disappoint. Fast rotor, cuts like butter.

Had an 18v model and this one is even better and runs longer.

On my machine the depth gauge will not stay locked so the bit goes deep into electrical boxes at times… damaged a couple of wires

Not Bad at all. Good Drill.

Hard to get a precise adjustment to bed the screw. It does what it is supposed to though once adjusted.

I bought this tool for a job i have going on because my regular drywaller had some health issues pop up last minute, so i decided to hang and finish the drywall myself. This tool is very smooth to run and saves me a lot of time measuring and cutting boxes out perfect. The only things i would change is having the blower go out of one two holes instead of the four in all directions. I would also add a belt clip but other than that great tool!

I purchased this tool to help with dry wall cut outs and repair. I am purchased a home that needed more than average dry wall repair in bathrooms, installing ceiling lighting fixtures, and many other repairs. I have used this tool in hopes for a cleaner cut when cleaning up holes and making the junction box locations. My two biggest issues are Dewalt could have made the size of this tool a little smaller to grip easier, and the light placement could be better. Aside from these two issues I would use this over rotozip which seems clunkier, and dremel. The battery lasts for what seems forever, and locking color doesn’t require anything but your hand to loosen and tighten bits. We all know what it’s like loosing the wrench to our demels. I have been impressed by the 20 volt line right down to their weed trimmers.
