Before buying this saw, I was an exclusive wormdrive user. I picked this saw up for those quick and easy cuts that weren’t worth throwing extension cords for. Doing a renovation job, someone stole my jobox that had my wormdrive leaving me with this saw to do the whole project with. I was super impressed and very happy with the performance of this saw. The battery life is amazing even when I used the smaller 3ah spares I have. I cut everything with it: Hardieboard, PVC, drywall, pressure treated, rough-sawn live edge 2″ thick, and more with this tool. The only times it bogged down were when I hit knots in the rough-sawn lumber and the pressure treated 4x4s. It is my new go-to and the wormdrive only comes out for the real heavy hardwoods and pressure treated work. I originally was looking for a 6-1/2″ circular saw, but went with this model because of the metal blade guard instead of the plastic guard on the 6.5″ saw.

I did a little research through DeWalt circular saws and decided this was the one I wanted to get. The hardware store didn’t have the tool-only model in stock, but they did have this one, with the included 5Ah battery. I’ve only gotten a small amount of use on it so far, but it has been GREAT so far! The included blade hasn’t struggled to cut through the various wood projects I’ve done, and the battery charge seems to last forever. Very happy with the purchase so far, and looking forward to not having to buy another circular saw for a long time!
