I don’t haver any FlexVolt batteries yet, but this saw still performs well with my 4 and 5 Ah 20V XR batteries. Since I’m invested in the 20V Max platform, I have enough packs in my battery arsenal to keep the tool running as long as necessary. Given the FlexVolt batteries supposedly provide 77% more power for even faster cutting, I’ll upgrade some of my older packs soon. The saw is well appointed with a nice rulered shoe and bevel/angle indicator, rafter hook, on board wrench storage, bright LED, and comfortable handle. It came with a 7 1/4” 24 teeth framing blade, so I was able to unbox it and get right to work. My first use was cutting 8’ long pieces of 1” thick, finished plywood. The saw cuts accurately, visibility is good, and the blade stops fast once the trigger is depressed (electric break system). Cuts were fast enough with an XR battery and I didn’t feel the tool bogging down. I did notice the batteries got pretty warm after each cut though. I wish I’d counted the number of cuts made per XR battery, but I believe it was approximately seven or 8, 8’ cuts with the 4.0 AH XR battery. I can only imagine how powerful and fast it will cut with a 60V FlexVolt battery. The only downsides I see with this tool is that it didn’t come with a fence or storage bag/case. And to be nit picky, I’d love it if (1) DeWalt could figure out how to make the fuel gauge on the pack visible when it’s mounted on the saw; and (2) the shoe had a little lip on the front and back to prevent it from sliding under a guide when cutting slightly warped plywood. Brushless design and DeWalt’s usual warranty… can’t go wrong with tool! Another nice DeWalt tool!

When paired with 60v battery, it’s like cutting with a electric powered saw. I’ve tried 3 other brands of saws in the past, an none of them compared to the power and smoothness of the dewalt. And the batteries holds power without having to run to the charger after every cut. Well worth the $$.

Trying to cut on a marked line, the blade is 1/8” off

I have yet to use my saw, but so far the only disappointment is the fact that it is what I would call a “Left Handed Saw”. To use it properly, the left hand holds the rear of the saw and the right hand crosses over your body to control the front; a seemingly awkward stance for someone very used to the opposite positioning.

Awesome saw, I wish I had bought it earlier before puting car-siding in multiple rooms. It’s quiet, powerful (using my 6ah flex volt battery), and will accept a normal full size blade. It even seems to make less sawdust, but that may be the current blade. The light is nice & bright but wish it had a laser.

I had misplaced my 60v saw and was of course very mad at myself so had to go buy another one and to be honest I like this one better for being able to use a 20v or 60vI haven’t tried a 60v battery to see if there is significant difference but I have on a drill that was NOT an advantage and it definitely had more torque

I have been drooling over a cordless circular saw for months now.If you are thinking about getting one, don’t hesitate buy it now. They really are that great!I tried both my 20 volt battery and 60 volt battery on Cub Scout projects this weekend. On softer wood, they both perform fine. I didn’t see a huge improvement with the 60 volt battery. For the weight and precision I actually prefer the smaller battery. Run time was fine for me as well with the small battery. Not having to worry about cutting through your cord and focusing on your own personal safety is really nice. The power is great, even better torque than my corded circular saw. Noise is good too. Not much louder than my cordless drill.I received this DEWALT 20-VOLT MAX LITHIUM ION CORDLESS BRUSHLESS 7-1/4 IN. CIRCULAR SAW WITH FLEXVOLT ADVANTAGE (TOOL ONLY) for free to write this review.

This “Brushless” saw has the torque to get the job done. The old days of weak cordless saws are over. I put a 20V battery on and started making cuts. I used both a small 2 amp/hour battery and a larger 4 amp/hour battery. The saw performed great with both. I’m impressed by the power. Pressure treated 2 by material can be cut by this saw. My example is a bare tool and I only own 20V batteries. I’m planning on buying a 60V battery and using it soon. This saw carries the blade wrench on board in the foot and the built in motor lock makes changing blades easy. The foot is easily adjustable for both depth and bevel. The bevel adjustment has a built in angle scale that has a surprising level of accuracy and detents at 22.5 and 45 degrees. This saw also features a built in hook that allows it to be hung from a rafter, shelf or joist. This feature is handy to keep the saw within reach when working in awkward positions like ladders, etc. This saw has built in rulers on the blade side along the foot and on the front of the saw. It also has a depth gauge built into the depth adjuster. This tool is clever. The foot is solid and should stay flat and true for a long time. I sawed a 2×6 with both this saw and my corded DeWalt saw. This saw performed almost as strongly as the corded cousin. I recommend this saw. It’s a solid tool.
