I’m a carpenter and yesterday I had a couple of wood steps to build while waiting for a bricklayer to show up. They were both small steps with just a couple of treads to step down out of 2 French doors down onto a patio. I used my 20 volt Dewalt on the first 2 small stair stringers. It was CCA and was wet and it took 2 fresh 4 amp batteries to make the cuts for the 2 stringers for the first steps. It was all the 20volt could do to make the 4 triangle cuts out and the top and bottom cut. The bricklayer called and couldn’t make it until the next day so I punted on the second steps until today. While at Home Depot this morning noticed this saw was reduced in price so I bought it. It was amazing how much more power this new saw has. It cut through the same wet CCA yellow pine effortlessly! Another big improvement over the older 20 volt saw is they have improved the safety switch. The old saw I had trouble with it binding if I didn’t press on it just right. With the new saw they have greatly improved that switch.

Works good as long as the battery has juice, the charge in the battery does not last long, however my kit had an extra battery, and it does charge quick once you put it to charge, over all I do recommend this kit for any carpentry job

Just one word to describe it…It’s a BEAST!!! The saw has ridiculous power…PERIOD! No other circular saw even comes close! This thing cuts like butter. 2x4s, 2×6’s, 3/4 plywood…..this thing zips thru them with ease. The Flexvolt batteries last basically all day! I have yet to use power tool batteries that have this much runtime. I’ve used several different brands in the past from Porter cable, Skil, and Rigid, and this saw mops the floor with those. It’s just a superior piece of equipment! Yes…it IS expensive..but you absolutely get what you pay for. No other Way to put it!! If you’re a contractor and in the market for a circular saw….JUST GET IT! You’ll be glad you did!

I bought (2) batteries which is necessary if you are going to be using it a lot at once. I do wish that it had a hard case like my cordless drill does instead of the carrying bag, but the bag is tough & OK.

This saw has the power as advertised. Battery lasts a bit, but two will not work for a professional carpenter all day. However, one will last long enough for the other to be charged. Smooth sawing, not a jerky cut as some cheap saw will be. However, the brake takes a little to get used to as when you take your finger off the trigger, the blade will stop soon after. The housing is a bit more in the way then my corded Milwaukee 7-1/2″ saws, and that is my biggest complaint as it is a bit harder to see your cut, not impossible. Overall I like the tool, and keep it in my truck so I have a saw from jobsite to jobsite, and easy to use without finding power, getting out extension cord, and wrap up the same. I’ve had the saw for a few weeks now, I am a general contractor with a crew of several guys that also will use it.
