I am a part time carpenter working 20 to 30 hours a week. This has saved me time and raised my abilities as to how I can approach a job. I am very satisfied. Even though it is a bit front heavy trying to use it one handed, the makes up for dealing with the weight. I have the 20 volt circular saw and it is light and nimble but not as powerful. So with the combo of the two I can tackle any cutting situation. Thank you Dewalt

finally, a cordless saw that has the power of my corded saws. This is my favorite circular saw. I have had it for years working construction and it has not skipped a beat.

This is my first cordless worm drive saw and I wish now I would have made the switch years ago. The DeWalt DCS577 is a well designed tool and has the power to cut through wood like butter. I could not be happier with this saw and would highly recommend it. Some have complained of it’s weight, which might be a concern for some. I have no problem using it. The DCS577 weighs in at 10.87 lbs as compared to the DCS565B at 6.3 lbs and the DCS578B at 8.2 lbs. The DCS577 is however lighter that the corded DWS535 (worm drive), which is 13.8 lbs.I bought the DCS577 as a bare bone as I wanted the 9 amp batteries and could not find a combo pack that had them. After this purchase, I went ahead with a purchase of a Flexvolt DCD999 drill and the DCS389 reciprocating saw to standardize the batteries for all these tools.

All my coworkers own these, so I had to tag along. The battery lasts a decent amount of time. It cuts nice and the battery indicator is handy. Id suggest getting a pack of 2 batteries as well if you plan on using it alot. The 6ah battery feels a bit lighter than 9ah battery that came with it. I chose this over spending a little more on a Skillsaw. I wanted the portability, and its pretty reliable. I am more than happy with the purchase, and I’d recomend it.

Its heavy but well balanced. For those days when you have to make just a few cuts at a customers house or all day long if needed. Leave the 100 foot of 10/12 cord at home. The more years you have to pull out a cord and wrap it back up again the more you will appreciate this saw. Not to mention when the power goes out or working on large buildings where power is hard to come buy.

A truly, amazingly strong saw. If you could only buy one saw, get this saw.
