I will start by saying I am a full time commercial plumber located in Wisconsin. In the time that I have owned this saw it has endured hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and muddy conditions without a single problem. If you’re anything like my old school uncle who has been in the trades his entire life, you probably think any circle saw without a power cord is totally worthless, powerless, heavy, and doesn’t last very long. Well he’s right, this saw is a bit heavy. He is wrong however about every other reason he wouldn’t buy this saw. That is until he tried mine and bought one the same night. This saw cuts just as hard, if not harder, than any other skill saw on the jobsite, corded or not. This saw paired with the 9.0 can last me all day as a plumber cutting supports for my pipes, and notching studs to pass my pipes though. I also have used this for side work doing general carpentry and remodeling and I can tell you that with 2 batteries you can cut pretty much uninterrupted. I never experience any power loss when cutting anything which is more than I can say for my last corded skill saw that was recently sold because I no longer have a use for it. My favorite feature on the saw is the blade left positioning. I used to have a blade right saw and this thing makes a huge difference in cut visibility and accuracy its amazing. In my opinion, this saws only downfall (if you can even call it that) is the weight of the entire thing with the battery attached. This thing is a little heavy and you can tell. I usually don’t bring it out of the job box until its needed (which ends up being everyday) but luckily this thing has an amazing joist hanger hook on it so I hang it just about anywhere I can while not in use. So, if you’re ready to cut that annoying cord on your jobsite but you want to maintain the power and reliability that you expect from a skill saw, this Dewalt Flexvolt worm drive style saw is the only choice.

I bought this saw a few months back. It is an absolute workhorse. I love the strength and weight of the saw. The battery is strong enough to last an entire day. Unlike most cordless circular saws it has enough power to cut through thick boards like 4×6’s without binding. Great saw!

Excellent with one exception, the safety button. Aside from the fact that its not necessary, it sits to high on the handle. Been framing for 30 years and always thought there would never be a better saw than my Mag77. This is the saw I drag around with me now.

Working carpenter perspective: this saw replaces my corded circular saws. It has every bit as much power without the bother of a cord. While it’s as hefty as a corded saw, that’s not as bad as it sounds — it tracks well. It doesn’t kick like an old wormdrive saw, which is nice. The brake works well, though if you haven’t pinned the guard back, that feature might not be important to you. Battery-life wise, I’ll use it with 6 and 9 Ah batteries, and it takes quite a while to burn through them. If I was production framing, I’m sure I’d be switching batteries more often. Would buy this again in a heartbeat.
