It’s just what I needed for work and home projects. Work is faster. Easier for the smaller tasks instead of pulling out extention cord to make just a few cuts. Time safer for sure and money safer for the customers. All in all it is great tool for my tool box.

This is my first cordless worm drive saw and I wish now I would have made the switch years ago. The DeWalt DCS577 is a well designed tool and has the power to cut through wood like butter. I could not be happier with this saw and would highly recommend it. Some have complained of it’s weight, which might be a concern for some. I have no problem using it. The DCS577 weighs in at 10.87 lbs as compared to the DCS565B at 6.3 lbs and the DCS578B at 8.2 lbs. The DCS577 is however lighter that the corded DWS535 (worm drive), which is 13.8 lbs.I bought the DCS577 as a bare bone as I wanted the 9 amp batteries and could not find a combo pack that had them. After this purchase, I went ahead with a purchase of a Flexvolt DCD999 drill and the DCS389 reciprocating saw to standardize the batteries for all these tools.

More powerful and last longer

Good power, safer than a gas powered saw. No oil drips or gas smell to transport. Had to buy a second 9ah to be able to really use the saw. The one that came with the saw didn’t last long enough.

Heavy duty, professional saw with dust collection capability. (Parts sold separately.)

Battery did not slack on power after 3 hrs of fairly steady cutting with chainsaw. Purchased second battery to use when first battery slows down. Very happy with power level.

Excellent state of the art battery system!

I love my 60v/20v batteries. Having a 6ah battery for my smaller, but demanding tools, and still bring able to power my bigger tools is fantastic. I have 4 of these. When a sale comes along, they’re well worth it.

Perfect, even for a novice. I cut 40 + boards in the woods and it still had plenty of battery life. Including 4×6 stock. Get one if you have the cash. Not an actual worm drive system, but works great if you are right handed.
