Nice trimmer and even nicer without gas and oil to deal with! I read up on reviews before i purchased it and read where one guy had the motor burn up because of the design of the motor housing. Dirt and grass is able to get inside because of air slots for the motor to breath. I took weather stripping that had one peel and stick side and put it over these vent holes to stop this from happening. It still breaths ok and nothing gets inside to the electric motor to burn it up! A really simple fix to a bad design flaw.

Nice string trimmer, absolutely hate we’re they have the hand grip. Make you reach for it and hurts your back after a while.

I love this tool. I used this trimmer three times on a quarter acre property with one battery charge. It cut through hip high weeds with very little effort. I Highly recommend it.

I was looking forward to getting the updated version I have a few issues with this newer version which is why I’m rating with only three stars. Actually, I would like to to only rate it with a 2.7 since the older version two points that made it much better. First, the overall look is great and the feel of it until you use it. The biggest feature I was looking forward to was the quick latch system which can makes it easier to transport much easier than my older version for the simple reason of the wires in the shaft getting warn out from taking apart as often as I was. With the newer model is good but swing the tool side to side you feel some play or the slight lose fitting of the two shafts coming together which is tough to get use to, I’m still trying to ignore the movement.Second, is the bump feeding system. It’s ok but the older version is less noisy when feeding due to better material for the bump feeding system. The HARD PLASTIC bottom makes horrible noises when feeding the string it was scary in the beginning. I wish there was a better bump feeding system or button.Third, what’s up with the battery compartment. It’s ridiculously oversized for all my batteries which makes one wonder about the cost savings in plastic if it was designed better for a better fit.Fourth, the older version had a lip on the bottom by the battery area which made it nice to store away in my garage, I was very disappointed to find that gone having to come up with another way to hang up the weed eater when I’m done with it.I like change, change is sometimes is good but research and development didn’t seem to ask anyone.

IF I ONLY HAD ANOTHER BATTERY!It works great, like really great! My NEW 4.0 Battery doesnt hold up long maybe 25 Mins. The dewalt line is the best ever!!

Very capable trimmer. Good power and easy to use (lightweight). Bought this for my wife to use around her garden. One guideline is to make sure you have a 6ah or greater battery because anything less only lasts a few minutes. A 6ah battery gives about 20-25 minutes of trimming, 8ah gives about 35-40 minutes.

For what I paid for, I think it’s really worth it…its light and easy to use…better than the gas powered ones for sure in my opinion.

I would have given this trimmer 5 stars if it wasn’t for the handle being too far aft of the center of gravity. This means that when you hold the handle the end which contains the motor and trimmer drops heavily forward. I used the trimmer for the first time today and my left arm is very sore from having to push down on the battery end in order to balance the trimmer so it would cut flat and even and to do that with my left arm I had to use the handle as a fulcrum. I’ve used gas string trimmers for over 35 years and I’ve never had one where the balance point is so far forward. I’m tempted to move the handle to the top of the lower trimmer pole and see if that helps. I’m using 4 and 5 amp batteries so the back end is about as heavy as it can get.One other point. I was clearing a path of grass that has fairly thick stems and it took me 45 minutes to clear the complete path. Battery usage was not what I thought it would be after reading reviews on this page. I completely used up a 5 amp battery, a 4 amp battery and had one bar left on another 4 amp battery when I finished. Seems like a lot of battery usage for 45 minutes of use. Luckily I had enough batteries to finish.

Lacks power but if you aren’t needing heavy weeds cut it’s good to go. Get 6amp battery cuz you’ll need it.

Powerful and the feed bump works well. I do wish it had a shoulder strap as it is a little heavy for me. However, I am more than willing to accept the weight in order to have a machine that works so well!
