I purchased this trimmer to replace an aging gas unit. I have just over an acre of grass with a couple dozen trees and multiple other areas to trim. This unit performs great, it is quiet, and lighter than my gas trimmer. I would still recommend hearing protection though. I have been able to trim around my yard with one full charge on the 9 ah battery. I have other 60 volt tools so I do have more batteries just in case. I did see some reviews that the grass guard is too small, but I haven’t had any problems with it. Oh! I have so far used this 4 times and haven’t had to replace string, so I might have to update on that. I have found some other trimmers to be extremely difficult to reload trimmer line.

The trimmer exceeded my expectations. I was skeptical about a battery powered trimmer compared to my old gas trimmer. The power and run time are both great. Haven’t tried the thicker line, but expect it to perform well. It is worth the money if you have any tools in the FlexVolt lineup.

We’ve used the DeWalt 60V trimmer for three weeks now. No fuel primer to pump or starter cord to pull. No cord to drag around the yard. Just insert battery, squeeze levers, trim! We have about 90 meters of lawn edge to trim. Easily three times on a charge.Only problem was the included string. The strings tended to break, requiring removal of the spool so they could be rerouted out of the trimmer head. Now, no problem with high quality aftermarket strings.

I love just about everything about this weed eater. Its lightweight yet powerful. Its very ergonomic. Battery power makes it quiet and itll last as long as you can expect a battery to last controlling a weed eater. I can easily finish what I need to do with battery to spare( about an hour). If the grass is wet that changes but I expect that.My only issue with this product is the guard. It’s very small and impossible not to have my legs covered in grass and constantly hit in the face with debri. I always wear safety glasses but this almost requires face shield. I pay attention to the rotation and try to avoid the debri but it doesnt matter where I stand I am always battling debri and am covered in grass. Need to come up with a bigger guard and it would be PERFECT.

Trimmer has been good through summer for my use. I live in a subdivision and don’t have a huge yard so this tool is great for that kind of setup. Probably wouldn’t recommend this one for big property use and knocking down a lot thick/tall grass. Figuring out how to reload the string was very frustrating at first since manuals and videos were unclear but once you figure it out it is easy. Overall have been satisfied with the trimmer.

Everyone has preferences whether you like gas powered, electric plug in, or cordless. You cant buy until you consider the dewalt line i have the flex volt 60 volt max wead eater and its perfect for my acre of land with gardens, kids jungle gym, pool, fireplace, patios and deck. 1 battery lasts the whole time and the design is comfortable and easy to maneuver.. i should also say ive had it for 2 seasons now.

I needed an upgrade from my 2 stroke trimmer. I was tired of mixing oil and gas and wanted something simple and easy. I already own an array of Flexvolt tools and this was a no brainer. Popped the battery in and away we go. Plenty of power even in Low and can hardly even tell its running. It did seem to to through the line quite quickly though so we will see how that plays out after some more use but overall a great piece of equipment by Dewalt.
