Haven’t used it a whole lot, I did sand a sheet of plywood and it worked wonderful not having to worry about the cord.

It was a gift.

Really happy with this purchase. Surprisingly balanced even with a big battery stuck on one side. It’s nice to have a cordless sander. Before I would sometimes accidentally sand the cord while I was trying to sand the wood.

The DeWalt DCW200 comes as a bare tool, no battery, charger, or storage case. The sander uses standard 20V Max DeWalt batteries. If you install a battery over 5 a/h, you’ll need to pick up a different dust port (part # N684701) because the larger battery size can’t clear the standard dust port. I’m using the smaller 2 a/h cells so there’s no problem with clearance. I’ve not used the sander long enough to completely discharge a battery but since I have several 2 a/h cells I doubt I’ll opt for using larger batteries. YMMV.In use, fit and finish is excellent and vibration is minimal. I find it comfortable to hold and use. The power switch (see photo) is a ‘rocker’ style switch and is sealed against sawdust. The switch is positive in action, I’ve had no unintentional shutdowns. There’s an included dust bag (see photo). If you elect to use the bag or vacuum, there’s an included ‘hole puncher’ (see photo) which can be used to punch small ‘drain holes’ (that’s what I call them) in the sandpaper. The punch can be used by hand or can be mounted to a workbench via two screw holes. The dust bag is a ‘twist on / twist off’ design and locks in securely in place. The dust bag does a decent job of collecting sawdust, but a vacuum is better. Of course, if you’re working in an area where you’re not worried about getting things dusty you can just use the sander w/o punching ‘drain holes’ in the paper and forgoing the vacuum. I don’t like to use a vacuum; I don’t like having the hose get in the way. The bag is O.K., it doesn’t get in the way of the work. YMMV.The tool uses 1/4 sheets of sandpaper (see photo). I use scissors to cut a standard size sheet into quarters and they fit perfectly. No tools are required for mounting the paper and it takes only a few seconds to switch to new sheets. This is a most welcome addition to my tool kit – my other sanders are a battery operated ‘corner’ sander and a decades old corded orbital sander. Having one that works with my collection of DeWalt batteries makes life a litter easier. It works as advertised, has good ergonomics, and any standard sheet sandpaper can be cut to fit, no need to buy specially sized paper. I think it’s a five-star product, the vibration is considerably less than my old corded sander. YMMV.The sander is guaranteed for 3 years (see photo), with a 1 year ‘free service’ included and, of course, the Home Depot 90-day return policy applies.HTHRegards,Jim

Very good sander the collection bag works fairly well plugs up rather quickly. I think that this product and other ones like this should come with the vacuum bag as well as the attachment to go to a vacuum cleaner. Other than that it is a very good product.

The battery was the wrong size. We needed a 40 volt one for the weedeater we bought there.

I needed a cordless sander for work and this seemed like a good choice. I’ve never had a cordless sander before, only corded, and selected this particular one because I already have Dewalt 20V batteries available and this came as a bare tool. It comes with a dust bag that easily screws on and a flat plate, not sure what it’s called, with protrusions to poke holes in your sandpaper with for better dust collection. No bag but not that big of a deal. Right now I’m prepping to paint a house and had filled in some siding with patch, and the sander did a pretty good job of it. I attached a 1.5Ah battery I already had and the whole thing was still pretty light. The speed dial seems to have a good variety of range of speeds, and is easy to adjust. The on/off switch is pretty standard compared to the other sanders. After several minutes of sanding the power had gone down about 30%, or 1 bar, and for intermittent use I’m fairly happy with it for the portability it has.One advantage of the sheet sander is being able to sand into corners and to use 1/4 of a sheet of regular sandpaper. I like the finish of random orbit sander better and the hook/loop peel off quick sandpaper attachment they have is better, compared to this one that takes more than a few moments to complete. I did not choose this sander for its finish quality, I do a lot of exterior carpentry work and it doesn’t always need to be perfect, I figured this would do a decent enough job and I have different sanders for fine finish work at other times.Overall a decent sander if you need to be mobile.

The battery life doesn’t last long. If you have a big yard you need several batteries to get the job done

I like the product, very easy to operate and to setup!! Also it’s good for small projects!!! On let’s you have 3-4 extra batteries!!! For big projects, but I recommend.

Priced somewhat high. Good build quality, excellent design, a perfect compliment to an orbital sander. Nice to include the hole-piercing template.
