DEWALT DCW600B 20-Volt MAX XR Cordless Compact Router Tool provides power like a corded tool while providing the convenience of a cordless router. The plastic fixed base and dual LED lights help to illuminate the work surface and provide superior bit visibility. This cordless woodworking router is equipped with variable speed control for optimal bit speed in each application. The release clamp allows for quick and easy bit and base change. This hand router features an electronic brake which slows the motor down faster after the unit is shut off for greater safety and convenience.

Very compact, easy to handle and very easy to change bits thanks to the locking spindle.I used it with 6A, 4A and even 1.5A and never run out of batteries for the work (max 30 mins of routing per “session” )

This cordless router is amazing. I’ve only used corded trim and standard routers in the last 20 years of my trade. Once I finally got my hand on this cordless router, I realized the possibilities of not being tied to an outlet. I primarily use this router to do pocket door hardware and the occasional trim and cabinetry work. While the router itself is quite heavy and hefty, not having a cord tie it down or get it in the way makes up for it. The one sided squared base plate is awesome too, allowing me to reference of a straight edge without twisting or shaking wile holding it. Compared to my corded router, this unit is actually quieter and so well balanced. The electronic stop is really cool too, eliminating free spin of the bits after shutoff. I’m really pleased with this router.

I have the 611 corded style of this router and this one is better. Its so much more easy to handle and has comparable power. It seems like this is also quieter then the corded tool. Good balance and decent runtime make this router perfect for putting the edge on a board without getting all tangled up in a cord.

I have a corded compact router and after buying one it was my go to router for mortising door hinges and doing round overs on things like table tops or porch hand rails. But after a while dragging the extension cord over your shoulder on a 12 foot piece of wood gets inconvenient and causes starts and stops burning the wood. I saw this router and it was part of a promotional kit with batteries, a charger and a bag and I jumped on it. Not having a cord on a tool like this makes it truly versatile. If you look at online videos comparing cordless trim routers the Dewalt always comes out close to or at the top of the list for power, amount of material it can cut per amp hour, plate size for stability and ergonomics in adjustability. Also, the plunge base that fits Dewalts corded compact router WILL work with this, and it’s next on my list. If you aren’t invested in another battery platform I’d go for this guy in a heartbeat.

Purchased the Dewalt cordless jigsaw to make curved cuts in wood. It’s great not worrying about a power cord in the way when you’re cutting something with a blade. Lighter battery packs are fine through thinner wood thicknesses. So far I’ve cut 1/4 and 1/2 inch ply. I have yet to try this on greater thickness. The size and weight of this brushless model is outstanding and is well balanced even with the battery packs attached. Also, this jig saw features an air port in the front, which will blow away dust from the cutting area so you can see what you’re cutting. I would recommend this product if you don’t mind spending a bit extra for the convenience of not having to worry about a power cord.
