Unless as a contractor you are running laser lines daily in direct sunlight, you are probably going to let these glasses collect some dust in between uses. If that is the case these are good enough. They are a $10 special use item that for me only makes a difference in heavy glare conditions (direct sunlight, jewelry store display lighting, etc). Keep the packaging intact so you can store the glasses within and avoid scratches in the tool case or buy a $10 sun glass case to store a $10 set of glasses…The frames are light weight, I have a wide face and often have an issue with frames being too tight. These frames have enough play that I had no issues at all. I would highly recommend them for the occasional use level user. For those of you that are daily users get a set of these as a spare.

I had purchased the Dewalt enhancedment glasses to better see the Bosch GLM 30 laser beam. I would say they provide about a 35-40% better visualization of the beam at a distance, in daytime overcast skies than with nothing. During day time bright sunshine the laser beam will not produce a return for more than maybe 15-20 feet due to the lack of beam power. So the these glasses will not benefit out in bright sunshine for longer distances but they do help and are relatively inexpensive.

These glasses are a specialty item and you do not need them for most laser level and measuring applications. If you are working outside with red measuring lasers and you have trouble accurately seeing the beam in direct sunlight, these glasses will help. They come in a nice little bag inside a plastic clamshell that doubles as a makeshift case.I suspect I find these glasses more useful than others because I am slightly red-green colorblind. The red lenses really help the laser light pop. The most useful application I’ve found for these is measuring outside distances up to 100 ft with a laser distance measurer.The only complaint that I have with these glasses is that I wish that the stems were a bit stiffer. Although I only wear them for short periods of time, I really feel that long-term wear comfort would be improved if the stems were made of more rigid plastic.

Laser lighted levels are ridiculously under powered. They only work at night in total darkness. I had to buy these glasses just to see the red laser’s faint reflection off a white wall, in the dark, across a small room. Buy an L3 green laser from China for $10, tape it on the level and voila!
