What a great tripod for layout utilizing our DeWALT lasers and an even better unit for filming video for social media! This DeWALT tripod exceeded our expectations for use on rough terrain and when we realized we could utilize it for video too…icing on the cake. Carry strap is a nice touch also!

This is a great heavy duty construction tri-pod. I am so excited to have this tri-pod. I have been borrowing one from a friend for the last big projects that I have worked on. This tri-pod is very sturdy. It is easy to set up and level. The adjustment levers are easy to operate. It has a great shoulder strap for carrying to the job site. All of the instruments that I have around the shop fit on the head, and were easy to use with it. Packaging and instructions were easy to follow and informative. Overall, a really great product.

I used the construction tripod with my laser level. It is easy to set up. You can adjust the height easily. There are clips on each leg to adjust the height. If the ground is uneven, the legs can adjust for that as well. If the ground is dirt, you can push the sharp ends into the dirt to keep it in place. If using the tripod on hard ground like cement or blacktop, the sharp tips on the legs will still help keep it in place. All in all a good product.

The tripod comes with a 5/8-11 mounting screw and a 1/4-20 mounting adapter that attaches to the 5/8-11 mounting screw. My problem is that the transit that I have is an old one with a 1/2-20 mounting hole (somehow the tripod to it got lost or stolen). I have found an adapter (5/8-11 to 1/2-20), but they are out of stock at the present. Sure wish that they would have included the 1/2-20 as well as the 1/4-20 adapter.At the present I am using in with my laser level which is 1/4-20 on the mounting. The tripod is so easy to put up and take down. Has a strap to tie the legs together and a over the shoulder strap to carry it by.

Excellent value and I think it will last. Certainly not as solid as a true surveying tripod so I wouldn’t use it with a transit. Would be nice if it included a bubble level, maybe I’ll rivet one on some day but I usually have a string level on hand that works just to get it in the neighborhood.

It would be nice to have a few positive stops on the legs but it’s an otherwise excellent tripod for my purposes. Flooring and light remodeling.
