Throw away your red light lasers green is the new way to go. Easy to use, accurate as can be. Setting window framework in using this tool got the job done in half the time. Green easy to see far better than the red no need for those goofy red colored glasses. Lining up interior walls plumb easier than holding the old 4 foot level. A must need for everyone from a pro to a doit yourselfer. Can hardly wait to use it on drywall and siding.

I have mixed feelings about this laser level. It is well-designed and built, as are DeWalt tools in general (I have a variety of their power tools.) Its green laser spot makes it more visible than red, particularly in daylight. And its 2 vertical beams make it easy to mark corresponding points on floor and ceiling (see attached photo.) But the bigger question is the suitability of its functionality for the tasks you need to use it for. Its major limitation is that it produces spot beams, not line or rotating.I have to say that this was my first use of a laser level, so I didn’t know exactly what to expect. And the included documentation was less than helpful – no use cases, hints, techniques of use. My intended use was for checking levels on flooring – we tore out carpet and are installing floating bamboo flooring. The attached photos show our use of the laser level for that. I positioned the level at the center of the floor in a spot that I checked was level using a spirit level. Then, with a piece of wood a few inches from the laser, I marked on it the height of the laser spot. I moved the wood around to different locations in the room, noting how much the beam was below the line (high areas) or above the line (low areas.) But this meant that someone had to simultaneously rotate the laser to point to where I was. This would have been much easier with a line laser (e.g. Dewalt DW089K.) But they are more expensive, hence my mixed feelings. You can get the job done with this less expensive model, just not as easily.My recommendation: decide what you are going to use a laser level for most frequently and check the “Laser Level Buying Guide” on the DeWalt website, and pick the model most suited for that use. But if it is outside your budget, you can probably get the job done with this base model.

The level lasers are easy to see and adjust. I am not one hundred percent that I did that correctly because the operators manual is non existent, unless you like emojis. I can’t understand putting out what could be top of the line equipment with no written manual of how to use it.

I got this green 3 spot Laser Level and it was easy to use. I did have a little trouble getting it attached to my tripod but I am thinking it was a tripod issue. I did not have a job at the time that needed a level so I used it to hang some pictures. The laser being green was easy to see and use. I can see where the magnetic bracket and hang hole would also come in handy.

Received this item in the mail just in time too try it out. Putting up beadboard and used this item after reading the instructions. Set on a tripod and used to find the horizontal line on the wall. Worked great! Will have to find other projects to do around the house to get to use this laser level. Item was constructed to be heavy duty. Nicest thing about this level is its warranty of three years if problems

A quality tool that was short on instructions. As is typical with DeWalt this came is a nice carrying case and the case includes a place to store extra batteries for convenience. I did need a screwdriver to pry the battery door open and then I needed to adjust one spring to get it to hold the batteries. The laser itself is sturdy and I am convinced that the slightly padded corners and edges will protect it. Mine came without a manual which created a problem since I am not an experienced user. I did find the manual online which was somewhat helpful but not detailed. Fortunately, use is somewhat intuitive. I initially used it by placing it on a ladder at the desired height and then swiveled it to place dots along a wall. The self-level feature meant that I didn’t need to worry about that. Once done I checked it with a 6 foot level and it was perfect. So I used this as a substitute for a laser line level, which I don’t have. The plumb feature works as intended. You can hang it on a metal stud with magnets or it will hook on a nail into the wall or wood stud. I intend to continue to use this as a substitute for a line level for the time being. The green light was very visible even in a well-lit room. So overall, a helpful tool for big projects or long distances where handheld levels don’t work well or when working alone.

You can say goodbye to the swinging plumb bob if you have this device. I used to use my chalk line reel as my plumb bob and it just won’t stop swinging. I always end up approximate the point. With this device, the points above and below are illuminated instantly. No more guessing. If the device is out of plumb, the light will brink until you place it on a level surface. The horizontal point is useful if you want to line up any wall mounted items such as picture frame, chair rails, wall cabinets..etc. At the end of the day, I prefer carrying this than a two feet long construction level. At least this will fit inside my tool box!!! The box its come with is very sturdy and it has slots for two sets of AA batteries. One set for the device and one set as spare.

Dewalt has a winner here.Had put off buying a laser level for years, always something in the reviews about short life or not really as accurate over distance.This self leveling laser works. Reading the directions was fun and application around the house, makes my spouse think I have gone mad, checking level of everything.Well built, solid, and easy to use. Very handy for anything that needs to be level over a distance, Can attest it is really good under 80 feet, I have nothing 100 feet to try it on, YET,Everything need to operate is included.Easy to useA must have in the workshop or home shop.
