It is well engineered and looks and feels robust. easy to set up from the box, the green lines are refreshing and easier on the eyes. The green light laser level has made it possible to see the lines even in very bright large rooms.

As advertised. Simple to use with accurate results. The green light is much more visible in all kinds of light than the red. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Finally had an opportunity to use the laser level to install a closet organizer. The lines were bright and clear even with the window blinds open in the room I was working in. It is sensitive to walking around it. I had mine sitting on top of a stepladder and when I walked in the room around the ladder, the lines would bounce. It wasn’t an issue for me because I was standing well away from ladder while working in the closet so the line was stable but just something to be aware of. The case provides excellent protection for it while you aren’t using it. Overall, glad I bought it and would buy it again.

I was so impressed with compact design of the green cross line laser level. It came with a great case and it’s compact design makes it easy for me to put in my tool cart. The bright green laser really helps me find my guide lines in a bright room for quick markings. Probably my favorite feature is the magnetic base that allows me to use it in commercial buildings that havw metal frames. I was able mount it in multiple spots without extra gear. It’s fast application and removal makes this a real time saver for me with my PM projects at work. This green cross laser level is rugged and compact. It’s going to be a perminant addition to my everyday tool kit. I strongly recommend this laser level.

The Dewalt DW08802CG is a very simple to use laser. Right out of the box, batteries included, and your off to tackle your next project. Its built very durable and compact. The hard sided carry case made for easy storage, as well as a durable home to keep the sensitive electronics secure. The green crosshair is dramatically bright. And the built in gyro to self level was more accurate than the description. (=<4°). All said and done, its a quality product. On the downside, it lacks features. Its simply turn on and set it where you want to send out a beam. If you want to move the line up or down you must move the entire package up or down. Thus making it difficult to even set up to where you want it. The gyro has very little play in it so your going to have to find a nice level surface to set it on that matches the height of where you want your level line. Kind of tedious and frustrating at times. If you want to hang some pictures I would recommend it, but any serious leveling job and this laser falls short.

This is a cool little gadget that I think every guy should have in his arsenal. Especially if you work alone. I put mine on a tripod and with the self leveling feature you can get a bright level line on a whole wall. For me so far it freed up a hand taping a line in my kitchen to paint and it was great trying it out hanging the shelf you see in my pictures. With the locked function, you can flip it on its side or any direction and it will stay put and give you a solid line. With the use of metal studs becoming ever more popular, the magnets on the back could be rally handy. And, if you need to move a line down a wall on the same axis it rotates horizontally in the housing. Over all it’s a cool little tool and I see it being used in many projects from hanging pictures to more pairing to installing my garage organization system.

Extremely useful and adaptable – leveling, plumb line, straight line (on lock). Setting blocks for a deck goes 2-3x as fast, laying the first line of tile is very fast and much more accurate (the vertical laser shoots almost straight up and down from the front of the laser level – sit it on a window ledge and you have a line on the floor that’s always on top of the mortar, tiles, etc.), and countless other uses.Especially appreciate the flexibility in leveling – put the switch on auto-level, and it will keep a level and plumb line automatically (it blinks the lines if the level is so crooked it can’t get to level), put the switch in ‘locked’ position, and you have 2 perpendicular straight lines that you can put at any degree. What makes it even more useful is the flexibility in positioning and mounting – 360 degree swivel of the level on its bracket, combined with 4 mounting options (magnetic, nail/screw head slot, sit it on its little rubber feet on a platform, or mount it on any standard tripod).Only frustration – and the reason I can’t quite give it 5 stars, is that the green laser dims almost to invisible in sunlight. If you are in direct sunlight (even through a window if the sun is streaming in) then it becomes quite a challenge to see the laser line. It will show up – with some squinting and double-checking on a tape measure in sunlight, but on wood, paint, etc, it is very difficult to see. I don’t know if the red color would be better, and I know that the laser can’t be too intense or you have eye & burn hazard issues, it is still a bit of problem. The brightness issue isn’t insurmountable, though, with a little creativity, and doesn’t eliminate the overwhelming usefulness and adaptability of this little tool!

After receiving this level from dewalt id have to say its a pretty nice light weight portable laser! Ive had it for about 2 months now and after receiving the 2nd one due to the first one stopped working after a week but dewalt sent me another I havent had a issue yet which is why I gave it the 4 stars instead of 5 so for a lower end cross beam self leveling laser its deffinately worth trying out!

I’m a professional remodeling contractor and I have had this tool for 3 months now and I have used it on 20 jobs, for cabinets, chair rail trim, crown molding, base trim, tile installations, flooring installations and many more applications. DeWalt has really stepped there game up with professional cordless tools! I will not buy any other tools because of their durability and reliability! Thanks again Dewalt for another great time saving cordless tool, that cuts job time greatly!

I have only used this a few times since I got it but it came in very handy. Works great for setting register heights. Without this I have to measure each individual register from the floor. It saves a lot of time. Also worked well setting my father’s sub ceiling.

I’ve had this laser level for almost two months and I can’t tell you how much I love this thing! I replaced an old, worn out, inexpensive laser level with this one and I wish I had done it sooner. I’ve used it to set ledger boards for a deck, installed cabinets in 3 different kitchens, and set complex tiles that transitioned from floor to wall to shower. The green line is easier for me to see than my old red laser and I really like the lockout feature, it allows me to lock the laser if I need a line that isn’t necessarily level. It may be hard to explain on here but the basics are this: lock the laser and move your line as needed, unlock the laser and it will automatically level the line for you. Very useful. The other thing I like is the hard case that came with it. I keep my tool trailer very well organized and this makes it easier to put away in a compact space. I can’t speak for the life of the batteries as I haven’t worn out the included set yet but there’s extra space in the case for 2 sets of batteries (plus the set in the laser, makes 3 sets total). Very good product, highly recommended.

Read this: anchoring furniture saves lives! The fastest and easiest way to anchor dressers and other tip hazards is with DeWALT’s super-visible green cross line laser level. Our twins’ dresser tipped when one of them climbed on it. I have no idea how she wasn’t hurt, aside from Super Mom being in the room at the time, just distracted by the other twin. We hadn’t anchored the furniture in our new house after moving. In our old house, the furniture was anchored by finding a stud, measuring from a wall to the furniture, completing the distance inside the dresser, then anchoring. Enter DeWALT’s cross line laser level—the vertical line that gives plumb is perfect for making anchoring fast, easy, and dare I say it…fun! Since it self-levels, I put the case on one of the beds, put the laser on the case, lined it up with a stud, and since it shines inside the dresser after removing a drawer I had my perfect spot. BAM! Anchored! It was so fast and easy, and since we have a lot of furniture to anchor, it makes the job fast! Every parent, grandparent, business owner, and anyone who has or will have kids in their home or store or day care MUST get those pieces anchored to the wall. The 2 minutes spent anchoring may save a life. Live where there’s earthquakes? No brainer; get this level. It’s so fast and easy, you could take it with you on vacation and do the furniture along the way or at the grandparents’ house when you get there. Watch the video to see what I did, and then feel free to read the rest of the review below. Daycare owners, get this. Grandparents, order this today. Parents of young kids, pick one up now and get that furniture anchored today. DeWALT’s green cross line laser level is a great tool—it’s well made and has a lock for the laser during transport, the over-molded housing is sturdy and has two pieces on each half of the clamshell, so that adds extra “padding.” The rubber over-molded housing ensures the tool stays put when not mounted, and it is IP54 dust/debris/water resistant. Feel free to use this tool outside, even if there’s weather. The case has extra spots for batteries—nice touch. You don’t need to worry about running the batteries down and not having extras, and because they have a molded spot just for AA batteries, they won’t bang around in the case. The laser mounts on a tripod or can hang from a nail or screw, or it can stick up with the magnets on the back of the swiveling mount. It’s nice to have the different options for mounting, and these are what I have come to expect. No surprises.A really nice feature of this self-leveling cross line laser is that it flashes to let you know when it can’t level itself. Straighten it out a little bit, and it lets you know when it has achieved level.I use this level for all the normal projects—hanging wall cabinets in a large closet, lining up recessed can lights, and for hanging pictures and mirrors on the wall. My favorite life-hack with this tool, however, is for anchoring furniture to the wall.

Got this laser back in June. Was not till a few weeks ago I had a kitchen reno. Mounted the laser on a DeWalt tripod, and installed all the new cupboards … nice and straight. No second guessing, no setting of lines. LOVED IT!

I was very impress with this laser. Portable with flawless accuracy. The self leveling feature was definitely a plus! It minimized the human factor (errors) therefore allowing the productivity we all want to achieve. The magnetic bracket is strong and reliable and capable to fit were others can’t. The beam is bright and can be used near light without losing is effectiveness. Accidentally Dropped it a couple of time but it kept on working. Love the case and the locking pendulum for easy and safe travel. Nice tool to have.
