This Dewalt DW088LG is one of the most well thought out laser line level currently sold in the open market. Compared to my 10 year old laser level this Dewalt is light years (no pun intended) ahead of all levels currently on the market. What is immediately striking is the amazingly bright green laser light which outshines all the other laser light levels. This Dewalt can actually be used in brightly lit areas and will distinctly output a bright green laser light sufficient to get the job completed. The Dewalt DW088LG also has a locking pendulum which quickly helps speed up the whole process of sighting properly. Built-in magnets on this Dewalt DW088LG give it more versatility especially when you do NOT have a tripod handy. Built-in battery life indicator keeps me informed of remaining life on the Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. The included blow-molded case though bulky is perfectly suited to house this laser level…we are talking precision instrument here so be mindful you should treat this tool respectfully.Only one battery is supplied with this kit which is kind of a disappointing by Dewalt. For this kind of price it should have come with at least two (2) batteries….one to use while the other is recharging. The supplied charger is the entry level Dewalt DW107 which is the slowest charger Dewalt manufacturers. The first item I need to purchase will be either a spare battery or at least upgrade the charger to a “quick charge” variety. No one laser level is ever perfect but for a non conical laser level it does indeed have what you need to get the job completed properly.

After upgrading from a much cheaper, lower-end cross line laser level, I am really happy with this for leveling just about anything, from hanging pictures to installing cabinets. I’ve mostly used it indoors and had no problems at all seeing the green laser line. A couple of times I’ve used it outdoors for leveling decking – it’s visible early in the morning but not so much in the bright high-altitude midday sun. Hopefully the pendulum lock will do what it’s supposed to and extend the level’s life – but don’t forget to turn off the lock when you’re ready to start work! (Yep, I’ve done it… until I figured out why the “level” lines looked so skewed.)

I don’t know how anybody could honestly say this laser won’t do what they wanted it to do, unless they were trying to level a toilet, because that’s where their review is-in the toilet. Seriously, a 3 beam laser will top this one? How? You can’t accurately use a 3 beam laser for laying out walls, period. Armed with this laser, you can frame ANYTHING. Grid ceilings? Perfect. Pictures? Too many variables with location of the wires/hanging plates, but can give you a perfect line on where the top of said pictures should go. All in all, the best laser out there for the money.

This is a superb laser level that will be very useful. It projects a bright, easy to see green line, vertical, horizontal or both! It runs of a standard Dewalt 12 volt lithium Ion rechargeable battery that has great life.The laser base unit has 1/4″ thread and 5/8″ thread in the bottom so it will mount on a camera tripod or a builder’s transit tripod. I mounted it on a camera tripod and was able to level all the pictures in our great room in about 5 minutes. Of course, this beautiful tool is overkill for leveling pictures, it will really help out when hanging a drop ceiling, building a deck, or hanging cabinets. It comes with a mounting bracket to clip it to a drop ceiling edge rail and the base unit attaches to the ceiling bracket magnetically! Very nice, great use of new technology.

The DeWalt Green self leveling cross line laser is a must have for tile work. The projection of the green lines are accurate and easy on the eyes. The tool box it came in was a bit larger than anticipated but well cushioned for years of service. Coupled with a hand crank adjustable tripod, this will be a very versatile tool added to my collection. I wish Home Depot had the DeWalt line of Laser levels in the stores to visualize and touch.

This is very handy tool. Have never owned laser of this quality. The green lines are very distinct, can be horizontal or vertical or both. If you have the 12 volt system, (the 12v drill is very light but strong would recommend) then you just slap the battery on and it works. I haven’t used up the battery yet. Probably would get a tripod or pole to use if you need higher lines, like cabinets. Used for installing wood plank ceiling, shiplap, cabinets. You will use this tool more than you know if you get it. I have bought multiple cheap lasers that didn’t give you a complete or well seen line, trust me you will see these lines. Only complaint is get ready because you will know see your house or any house in a whole different view (Nothing is square, flat, or level!!!) But this doesn’t lie, just gives you the perfect line. I guess a 3rd line could be handy in the next model up but I am not that smart to use 3 at a time, lol. Great little tool. I am trying to take care of this, but have dropped it from a ladder x 2 and no issues. Inside a rugged case and yes I’m trying not abuse it but incase it happens it can take a little.
