NICELY BUIILT DRILL. POWERFUL AND LIGHT TO WORK WITH. THE ONLY FLAW ON THIS DIRLL IS THE REVERSE SWITCH. IT HAS THE TENDENCY THE BREAK OFF IF YOUR A LITTLE TO ROUGH WITH IT. OTHER THEN THAT GREAT DRILL. A TINY BIT PRICY FOR A HOMEOWNER BUT, REASONABLY PRICED FOR A CONTRACTOR.

I bought this drill for going through 4×4’s and 6×6’s. I put spade bits and auger bits on this and it plowed through it all. The only drawback is that it doesn’t quite fit between studs on 16″ centers even with a compact Hole-Saw attachment (and the rear handle was removed of-course). If going through studs is what you have planned, then get a Right-Angle Drill. But for all other items, this is a great drill with a good balance between torque and speed.

The reason you buy a drill like this is because you need the kind of power that this class of drill motor can provide. Because this is a powerful tool you also need to be able to hang on to it and DeWalt has done a very good job of providing the combination of handles and handle positions needed to maintain control. The chuck is smooth and powerful, as is the motor itself. Time will tell how this tool will hold up, but it has everything I need and expected in this class of tool.
