These are very nice bits and have good uses, but I was looking for something to drill stainless steel and this did not work. I bought them because this type was recommended. I can still use them for other materials, but not stainless steel.

The bits drill nicely, especially in metal, but I broke my 3/8 bit drilling through 3/16″ flat bar when it grabbed and twisted off. I have not had any other problems with the other bits in the set, so maybe that bit had a defect.

These drill bits are fabulous!!! The point on the ends removes the requirement to use a punch toget a place for the drill bit to stay in place. These bits are made for metal, and that is what I used them on and the drill bit did not move or “squirrel” across the steel when I started the bit in place, whereas most regular bits will not stay in place on the metal.

For years I labored unneccessarily using carbon steel bits. I am stunned to see how quick I can drill through light gage steel using these bits. I reduced my drilling time to less than 25% time for a project in which I was using steel bits. I will never again buy anything less than titanium coated or carbide tipped drill bits. This Dewalt drill bit set is unquestionably worth paying more, because they will save you time and aggravation. The Dewalt case, as typical with all of my Dewalt cases, is well designed, and a nice addition to my tool cabinet.
