I have used these in wood and metal and I have not had any issues. For the price and quality this set cannot be beat. I took off one star due to the metal case, I prefer a plastic outer but other than that it meets or exceeds my expectations.

I bought this set of bits about a year ago to use primarily with my drill press. I’m happy to say that I have absolutely zero complaints with how they’ve preformed. That being said, I recently dropped and broke the tiny 3/32″ bit and wanted to replace it with a new one. Although Dewalt sells several 3/32″ bits as individual units, for whatever reason, they don’t sell any of the bits in this set. So, if for some reason you break one like I did, you’re going to have to either buy a whole new set, or settle for replacing it with something slightly different.

Overall a good product. The bits tend to last fairly long as they are used in the materials they are intended for. If the price was 50 instead, i think it would be an excellent product for the price. Sturdy carrying case, although i would prefer if it had maybe a transparent plastic on the openings, because all sort of debris and critters can get inside while it is being stored in a workshop/machine shop/warehouse

SURVIVES FIRES!After our shop fire last June, everything salvageable was corroded. Although rusted over as well, this drill bit set is still sharper and stronger than other NEW sets of a little less quality. So when I needed a bit set for remodeling my own home, I knew this would be it!
