I am a electronic specialist, I do a lot of special electronic equipment installations in a very confined space. This Dewalt right angle variable speed drill became very handy. I recommend to anybody for their projects or hobby.

It did the job I needed, barely. It struggled real hard to drill through a stud with a 1 1/8″ spade bit. I will say though, I was drilling the width of the stud (3 1/2″) and that’s a lot of wood. For occasional use with a bit that large, it may be okay. I used it on some smaller drilling though, and it was plenty strong. The paddle lever being so large, it’s hard to grip sometimes while trying to get it into position to drill, but I adjusted accordingly. Like other reviews, the chuck guard makes it complicated to change bits, but it came in handy on other tight fit uses. You just do what your supposed to do in the first place and that’s unplug the thing before sticking your fingers in there. My primary reason for purchasing this model was the 4 amp motor for the large hole I spoke of. It was worth buying this over another angle attachment for my regular drill.

The angle drill was just what I needed to get into tight spots , it very easy to handle ,has good power to handle a 3/8 drill into steel.

I use this for the impossible to reach spots inside boats I work on. It has plenty of power to run hole saws, drive screws, drill, etc. The grip trigger can be difficult to control. The reversing switch is not easy to flip one handed.
