Drill was long enough for my needs, and the bit itself appears sturdy. The issue is when we put it in our DeWalt drill, when it met enough resistance the inserted part of the drill would start stripping inside the drill. Would have been better if the bottom end of the bit was not in a cylinder shape.

I don’t know if there is a difference, but the drill bit I bought is just black rather than the gold and black that is in the description. Regardless of the colors, the drill bit works just like it should, cutting easily through wood.
