I bought this to put in a lathe and drill a hole in a piece of aluminum stock. It cut right through and made perfect, long, unbroken chips. Drilled through 6″ of aluminum and was still going. I would buy again.

First of all it wasn’t a black and gold bit…it was all black oxide. The reduced shank just fit into my 1/2″ drill motor. It was sharp and I found it to do the job easily. It is a bit expensive, but I needed a 5/8″ bit. A pilot hole is suggested to help the bit turn true.
