WOW! That was my first impression. These bit have helped with boring a clean hole with no blow-out. I set my drill to high speed and feed the bit slowly. Hardwood…NO PROBLEM!

I was making some cribbage boards for Christmas. I tried using a standard drill bit, but found out rather quickly that the grain of the wood make the bit move to the side quite often. I was using a floor-model drill press! I purchased these brad-point bits and drilled 480 perfect holes.

The brad bit allowed centering at the hole location. The drilling of the hole was smooth. On poplar wood I have started seeing some fraying at the exit having drilled 60 holes with the 1/2″ bit. I am not sure if it blunting of the bit or quality of the wood.

Great product. Good sharp shoulders. Used it to bore holes in oak and teak. Smooth and true results. Chamfered shank would help to reduce spinning when used in hard woods. Would definitely recommend.
