This drill has good low and high rpm power. Great fit in your hand. Uses are for general drilling in wood and light metal. A shop need the power of corded drill.

Excellent quality 0-1,200 3/8-inch drill. I needed a slower 3/8-inch drill to occasionally drive torx and phillips screws without stripping screw.

Fantastic drill! I replaced my old under-powered Craftsman model with this drill. What a great difference. This drill is now my all-around general purpose drill. As for long term reliability, will have to see. For what I understand, DeWalt builds drills to last. So far, the drill has been very durable. I would highly recommend this drill. The 3/8 inch chuck is perfect for general use, and it’s keyed. A keyed chuck is a big plus for me. Also, the drill weight for its power output is just right.

Excellent drill. Has a lot of power to get the job done. Variable speed makes it easier to initially get started. Reversible is great as the drill does the work for me.

Replaced a 30+ year-old Craftsman VSR drill with this one. It meets my needs as a homeowner / tinkerer; plenty of torque and speed for my needs.I particularly like the keyed chuck, as I have a lot of bits with round shanks, which I wouldn’t be able to secure well enough in a keyless chuck. The chuck key holder was a bit tricky to attach to the cord, but a quick Google search showed me how to attach it properly.

i bought this drill knowing that it didnt have a side handle. i have several dewalt drill handles an assumed one would fit. they didnt so i returned the driil. drill is made in mexico an seems like good quality. but it would be awkward to use without a side handle.

This drill is sturdy. While it takes some getting used to its weight, it does deliver. I haven’t used it all that much, but I look forward to testing it.

I bought this drill mainly for the old style keyed chuck. When my old keyed chuck Craftsman drill finally died I bought one of the new drills with the hand tightened chuck. I found many times that the chuck would loosen up while drilling into metal and even while drilling into wood. One day I got so mad with the chuck loosening up that I finally had the last straw – I took the drill and threw it down on my concrete driveway. Suddenly I found I was in the market for a new drill. I had to order this model on-line thru Home Depot because I couldn’t find it in the stores I visited. I’ve talked to many people who have the new hand tightened chucks and almost everyone agrees – they are a step backwards from the keyed chucks that are slowly disappearing. I’m giving the 5-star rating for the drill itselfI ordered this product on-line. When I received it, it was in the original manufacturers box which was wrapped in brown packing tape. I tried peeling the brown tape off the box and the top layer of the box came. I ended up leaving the sticky brown tape on the box – looks tacky. I was very disappointed that the unit was not packed in a separate box protected by bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Home Depot took the cheap way out on shipping this one.
