This Dewalt that I purchased was evidently remanufactured. It was in a bin, not a box. It did not come with a screw on support handle, or a chuck key. (Over sight on my part, as I had to return to the store to purchase a generic one) My experience with Dewalt tools hasbeen more than exemplary. I needed a replacement drill, as my original was stolen. (Also a Dewalt)

I have a 3/8 inch corded drill and a 1/2 inch cordless drill but neither of them were up to the task of doing a lot of drilling with a 3 inch hole saw. The cordless drill had a 1/2 chuck for the hole saw but just not enough power and the hole saw required a 1/2 drill so my 3/8 inch corded drill was useless. I searched for an adapter for the 3/8 inch drill but I read some advice that the motor might burn out by doing more heavy work than it was designed for. I’ve used the drill I am reviewing and am completely satisfied. I noticed the web site describes it as a 7.8 amp drill but the label on the drill says it is a 8.5 amp. Had to do a google search to figure out how to attach the chuck key to the cord but that’s probably because I was a software engineer for thirty years and don’t work much with my hands. LOL

I purchased this drill to mix stucco. I first tried a hammer drill of a different brand. That drill literally went up in flames. This Dewalt drill is amazingly powerful and mixed a bag of stucco with no problem. It has basic features but it is made with outstanding quality and it is really powerful. Highly recommend this drill for heavy duty drilling or mixing.
