This is an excellent countersink. Only thing better would be a 2 step in the bit instead of the taper but it wouldn’t be as user friendly for so many different depths of predrilling. I had a set of Ryobi countersinks that were trash compared to this. Also easily adjustable in length.

This is a good countersink bit. This cuts well and quick and the countersink is smooth. I’ve tried the HF brand ones and the DeWalt’s are much much much better. These have more twist which allows more debris to be cut and cleared. I had to fight a lot more with the other ones. These go through wood like a breeze. I gave it a 4/5 simply because you cannot adjust the depth of the countersink (you can change the depth that the drill bit cuts, but not the countersink cutter head). I use a drill bit stop set to set the plunge but otherwise it is all by eye.

The Drill Bit works as it should – however it is not ready right out of the box. You need to find your allen wrenches to tighten the set screw before you can start using it.

The groove made with the counter sink is exactly what a number 8 screw needs to be flush with whatever wood project you are working on. Just torque the Allen set screw right out of the package and you are good to go.
