The unit is ok but cant quite keep its depth setting consistent. the depth setting seems to not be locked in well causing problems with accurate driving. It works moderately well for drywall but failed miserably when i tried using it to drive hardibacker screws. ( inconsistent depth kills it the cheap plastic/composite nose piece kills it)spend the extra $$ to upgrade to a better model or brand

This tool works well and does a good job. It is comfortable to handle and has the power to do the job easily. The only problem I had was when I got it out of the box, the nose piece depth adjustment was stuck and could not be turned by hand. Once this was overcome, it did the job I bought it for. I am satified and would buy it again.

This is a very nice gun to use! Adjustments are quick and easy and stay true for as long as you need them to! There is plenty of power and torque for driving even the longest deck screws home, FAST! Bit engagement it sensitive and locks in quickly to enable a straight drive without worrying as much about slipping off the screw head and creating an unsightly divot in your deck or drywall! The grip is very ergonomic which allow you to use it comfortably for a prolonged period of time and the larger belt hook is an added bonus to make your job easier!

Bought two of these, taking one back that has not been used yet. Although it’s a sturdy product, well made, it just didn’t do what I wanted. I am installing 2500 LF of Four Board Horse Fence, 1×6 Boards on 6×6 posts with 3″ Deck Screws. Read the reviews and saw this was great for Decking…ended up buying a Mikita Impact Driver, works so much better!!! Went through #2 bits like a hot knife in butter and if you need to angle the screws at all, no joy!My recommendation: I see this as purely a sheetrock or paneling tool ONLY.

My last screw gun was a Craftsman. It was heavy duty, lower RPM, that did a great job on dry wall, but more important, decking. After constructing an entire home and extra large deck, the planking on a dock, and a lot of framing, it finally wore out — more than 22 years after I bought it. This new DeWalt gun, weighs just a littel less, has an automatic depth setter and clutch, and a huge amount of torque. I just finished my first major trial with it — framing out a room expansion. It worked great driving 3″ screws through 2×4’s. The only issue I had — similar to the old screw gun, is the need to buy the best phillips head bits so as not to strip out the screws. Probably the best recommendation would be to get the square head bits and screws, and then no slippage.

I ordered the scrugun after returning the Home Depot brand screw gun. This scrugun did everything well that the HD brand did not. The 2500 rpm is fast enough and work well for me on metal or wood studs. Great value for the price.

Installed composite decking on a 10′ x 24′ deck and the tool worked great. Would hate to try doing the job without this screw gun. Had plenty of power and the 2500 RPM was just the right speed for the job

This screwgun is your basic of drywall gun’s. It is reliable but a little heavy when compared to other guns like the Ridget or Makita. Would recamend for home users and casual drwaller’s. Definatly a durable product for drops and rough use.
