This is my first Recip purchase to be used to tear out the floor of our master bedroom, and I’m super pleased with its performance. It’s cut through old pine floor joists like a hot knife through butter, using some Milwaukee blades I got for a buck apiece through a slickdeal that Home Depot price matched in-store. It’s pretty durable, too; I’ve dropped it a few times on concrete, and there’s nary a scratch on it. Overall, I couldn’t be happier if this thing did dispensed Diet Dr. Pepper, too.

The blade wobbles over 1/4″ in the vertical and horizontal direction. With the lever blade system there seems to be no set screw to tighten the blade. Other companies restrict the wobble to a 1/16″ to 1/8″ tolerance. The saw has excellent power so when starting a cut, especially in metal, the wobble makes it a challenge to hit the mark.

From the unboxing and first use you can tell this is a quality product. Owned for one month now and this thing just doesn’t quit. Love the power and the durability. A few competitors had products where the rubber covering would slip a bit and I didn’t like that aspect for safety (grip) reasons. In contrast, this model feels well made and US made is an extra bonus. Primarily used to cut 8-10 inch logs for projects, and with the right blade, it continues to exceed my expectations. Goodproduct and you can trust its sturdiness without a doubt. Made theremoval of a subfloor and a freestanding deck in the backyard. Also, itmade firewood cutting pretty easy with the same 9″ wood-cutting blade(bought seperate.) My only qualm is the fact that the insertion/removalof the blade in the sideways position was easy with the cam lock, yetthe same action in the up/down position yields no obvious method ofrelease. Get one of these if you do any kind of remodeling becausethey’re pretty dern versatile, surprisingly.

I used this saw to demolition my broken deck. It ate through the wood without issue. A few of the knots in the wood slowed it down a bit, but it made it through with a little muscle.My only complaint is that the first saw I got from Home Depot would not hold on to the blade and had to be returned.

I got this saw about a week ago. I was shopping for a good reciprocating saw, but cost was a factor. I do not have a need regularly for this tool, but enough of one to try and find one for when I do.I researched several types of saws, and was originally going to buy a bit cheaper one for $69.00. As I compared the two, I realized a few things -1) THIS saw has a four position blade clamp. This means I have multiple ways to put the blade in, and still be able to have a safe and sturdy grip on the saw and ultimately, control.2) It seemed sturdier and more rugged than the other.3) This saw was 10 amps, and the other was only 6.5. I figured while it isn’t the most powerful saw out there, it would be more than suitable for anything I’d get into or need one for.4) Its a DeWalt – how can you really go wrong?I already used it to cut some old wooden barrels in half for my wife to make into flower planters. Just used a simple bi-metal blade which is basically general purpose. MAN! I put the saw on the barrel, (Oak, 1″ thick)… I had my wife roll the barrel as I cut. She couldn’t keep up! It sliced right through all the wood like a hot knife through butter! It was fantastic!Any one who needs to get a reciprocating saw, for what ever reason — THIS is the saw to get! I even purchased a pruning blade for the hedges! I cant wait to tackle those!It’s sturdy, it’s strong, it’s cost effective, it works great and its a DeWalt! You can NOT go wrong!

Make matters awhole lot better they were only $89 dollars. It was awhole new experience with this saw we are renovating our house and it was so much easier taking out the old nails by just sawing it and taking off the drywalland putting on a new one.
