I have not used this saw yet, but, I have always had great luck with all the DeWalt tools that I have owned and used as a professional contractor.

Bought this to accelerate demolition of a major bathroom remodel-gutted to the studs and joists-awesome tool! My first Dewalt purchase, very happy. In fact, just today added an 18v cordless drill/driver to my tool chest!

I purchased this saw for my son for Christmas. He was very pleased with it. The name DeWalt tells you that it is one of the very best. I husband does masonary work and he has used dewalt tools for years and they have held up extremely well.

I compared features on reciprocating saws for weeks but kept coming back to this one. Ten amps at this price point is great as it is, but the 4-position blade clamp set it apart. The rock-solid feel, quality cord, excellent power and quick blade changes are all there… but getting them with the flexibility of changing the blade orientation at this price just doesn’t happen with other brands. I brought this home day one and used the horizontal blade orientation to flush-cut some sloppy work cemented to the underside of a kitchen counter.Very happy with my purchase through several projects so far, and I look forward to taking it to some iron rebar building a hog pit this spring.

The saw itself is good and an old favorite in the market. But I will say that DeWalt is going cheap these days. They’re now giving this ten cent cloth bag instead of the great tough cases they used to come with. I want my tools to last. That means keeping them in a well protected case. I’m very disappointed with this case as it wont protect my tool at all. The zipper is even cheap. Also the home depot description is incorrect for this tool. It no longer comes with the “heavy-duty case” that the description list. Type 1 and 2 used to come with that case, the stores are now being stocked with Type 3 of this model. I checked/confirmed this with the DeWalt parts website. Which by the way will cost you $24.67 plus shipping… that’s something that USED to come with the tool.

I bought this saw with a particular project in mind, but since receiving it I have found multiple uses for it. It is a real workhorse that so far has tackled everyhting I’ve thrown at it.

The beauty of this saw is the ease of use. The blade is simple to install and remove. Also the blade can be installed in four different positions so you can use it flat against a surface if you need to. Handiest reciprocating saw I have owned.

It is a very easy to use and a tool that you can count with.. its performance is great and a lot lighter than the one I use to had

Having only used the saw on one project, I can say it did a fine job of removing 4×4 posts from my deck. Its rotating blade position feature is a big plus in my opinion, and the saw is among the lower priced ones out there. Good performer for the money. I’m sure I will find many uses for it.

Absolutely love this saw. Powerful enough for what I need. The best feature is the 4 position blade clamp and the way it easily release for quick and secure position and blade changes.

I do a lot of work with re-purposing pallets. I have been spending countless hours pulling pallets apart and finally broke down and bought this saw. One of the best purchases I have ever made.

I have normally avoided Dewalt due to vastly overinflated prices for them, but this saw was not (overinflated that is).It was a very good price for a good saw. I debated between this and the rXXXX and the RXXXXX, I finally chose this one as was very glad I did. It is heavy but has more power and longer stroke than either the rxxxx or Rxxxxx. When I first used it I was shocked at how powerfull and easy it was to use and maneuver. The handles and grips are perfect, and easy to maneuver. This is important since it has much more power than the rXXXX and cuts much faster and smoother. I had a small tree trunk to cut that I had unsuccessfully tried to cut with my 18v rXXXX saw and all my batterys would go dead before I could make more than a few inches into the trunk. I hit it with this saw and BOY.. what a difference, It sliced through that tree stump like a hot knife through butter. (I like butter..).The price was the best value for the money and the almost perfect 5 star ratings settled it for me. I am very glad I bought this. If you want the best value in a recip saw, buy this one. It’s plenty for virtually all users, and the price is great.

I’ve had mine since 2005 and used all the time for everything from rough framing to demolition to cutting down trees. The saw is powerful enough, doesn’t bog down except when I’m pushing it WAY too hard. The quick change key is sloppy and can only be used when the arbor is retracted into the saw. Not that big of a deal but annoying, and the chuck doesn’t hold blades well anymore and is hard to cut straight with, so I mainly use my saw for yardwork and demolition, pretty much where I can afford a sloppy cut. Plunge cuts are pretty much out of the question anymore, but the occasional square hole in plywood sheeting still works. The sloppiness happened years ago and I told myself I’d toss it when it broke, but the chuck still works well enough and the saw itself is as powerful as ever even though I’ve ran it for hours straight, dragged it through dirt and mud, and packed with enough dirt and debris to choke a horse.
