Nice saw – big improvement over my old Skil Saw that needed an allen wrench to secure the blade. Blade insertion is easy with a toggle lever to secure/release – up/down/left/right, no issue. Variable speed and plenty of power – haven’t stalled it out yet. Uses the same blades as my old Skil Saw, which is a plus.Not sure if I like the case – fabric vs a hard case. Only thing that supports the case is cardboard, which I doubt will last long. But so far it works and keeps the saw and blades in one place.

This saw has ample power for a mid range priced tool. Reliability is always solid with dewalt. Use this saw every day at work. I generally replace them every 2 years. However, a homeowner can expect 10 years or more of problem grew use.

I purchased this saw to remove sections of hardwood siding, rotted studs and sections of 2×8 seal band on an old house. The four position blade was particulary helpful. It allows you to get flush cuts in tight quarters. The saw cut quickly through wood and nails with little hesitation. I was able to plunge cut through siding. Changing blades is a snap. I wished I purchased this saw several projects earlier. It is a well made and versatile tool. The case has good space for spare blades and the cord is a good length, not to long or to short.

The saw came in a box,however when I opened the package there was no blade in the box. I called DeWalt and they are sending me one. Perhaps the box was opened before and someone took the blade, the box was retaped.

This is the first time I have used the quick release option on a Sawzall. It is cool. Even cooler is the way you can put the blades in 4 different ways so you don’t have to twist and hold the saw in an unsafe manner.

.I used the Dewalts Saw Saw for the first time the other day. I am a 50-year-old woman and I decided to build a laundry room in my garage. With the help of Home Depot employees and Dewalts tools the room is perfect. I used the saw saw on the threshold of the door that I framed. I was a little unsure of how to use it and I remembered others saying they hate to use a saw saw so I was concerned. I had no reason to be afraid, it worked just great I cut the piece I needed to cut away perfectly. Then I decided to use it to cut out some electrical outlets that worked great too. I used the cordless drill on everything. It had enough power to get the job done and the convenience of not having to find an outlet when you are in tight places was wonderful. I used the circular saw on all the wood and my cuts were right where I needed them to be. I used the saw on the drywall too, I’m not sure if I needed too but it worked great! So now I can say I’m a pro at building and I love my new laundry room. It’s an 8×8 room, I thought if I made mistakes no one would really see it anyway….now I leave the door open so everyone CAN see it! Thank you for making a great product and I have to add that it wasn’t too heavy for me either and that helped. Keep up the good work, you get a 10 star rating from me!

I’m a DIY’er and this is so far the best reciprocating saw I’ve purchased. I really like the ability of rotating the blade. It came in handy when I had to cut an opening out for a new window in the garage; from the inside, cutting nails from between the studs and the sheathing.

I’ve had this saw for many yrs(7-8?) and have thoroughly abused it using it to cut old seasoned iron pipe till it was way to hot to touch(lost my grinder), accordioned many a blade on unseen objects, dropped it from many a ladder. (Embarrassingly) once I threw it across a concrete floor slamming it against a wall in frustration when i calmed down walked over picked it up plugged it in and continued…..demo-ed countless bathrooms and other projects… the multi- position blade feature is quite handy the only real knock on it is the blade fits loosey- goosey did that when i first bought it and 7-8yrs later its not any tighter or looser and still never dropped a blade..ever. Used to use it every day but still use it about 1-2 times a week to demo stuff probably time to pull it apart and regrease the gears..but really why when it still works so well:)
