ever have to set up a post less than an inch from someones home?if you haven’t, let me tell you, it is quite tricky. one of my old co-contractors bought this when it came out a few years back. it solved our problem of cutting off posts to the right hight without marring up the siding of the house. he paid well over this price point, not that long ago. it is perfect for is power VS. weight too. if you roof or do any ladder work, get this first. i got one a month ago, and took out a four inch thick wet tree root right out of the ground in my back yard. buy this saw

I’m a carpenter, and I need reliable tools. This has been a very reliable tool. The main feature I like is the 90 degree blade alteration. I’ve had to get into tight spots, like right up against a wall, and the tool’s blade adjustment, along with a longer blade, allows me to get into those really tight/cut-up-against-the-wall spots. I had one of these 4 years ago, and the pin in the lever, which changes the blades, fell out. I exchanged it for another one. Now, this year, 2014, I purchased a third Saw. The purpose for a third saw, was buying it for another contractor buddy. So, yes!!! I would buy this saw again, and in fact I did. For the price and functionality, and reliability, to me, it was the best buy. My other current Dewalt saw runs great. I’ve used it very hard for the last 4 years. Never has failed to operate. Super Demo Tool!!! For a “corded” reciprocating saw, this is the one. Under 100 bucks, this is my “go-to” saw. I have other reciprocating saws, but for the price, and what I do…this saw takes beating and keeps going.

I’m a total amateur and bought this product to help me do some very basic things. I was very happy with how easy it was to insert the blade, operate the tool, and perform my task with speed and quality.It’s fairly heavy, but not to the point that I need to take breaks because of how heavy it is.The one thing that I’m not totally sure about is that the tool does get warm after continued use. This may not be an issue, though for an amateur, it was something that I was conscious of and concerned about.

Like all Dewalt tools, this reciprocating saw is the tool most contractors will choose because of price and quality. It is always easy to change blades. Doesn’t get hot. Reverses easily. The only drawback is that it is a little heavier than it seems necessary.

This saw does the job right out of the box. Currently I have been restoring a vehicle and it makes short work of the what tasks I have put it to. The only draw back is more of a user hint, watch the speed, since it has no variable speed limiter except finger pull, I quickly burnt out a few blades before I gained some skill and understanding. I have only had it about a month but I would recommend this saw to anyone.

i’ve cut through just about everything with this. tree branches, tubs, metal pipes, everything. use the right blade, of course. easy to install or change the blades and they lock in securely with no fuss. blades can also be mounted for downward cuts or sideways cuts.

i bought this saw when it was on sale for 70 dollars and for that price you cant beat it. this saw is lacking any features of todays recip saws ie. Brushless motor, adjustable shoe plate, Light, joist hanger. but for the price i got it at that is fine. the 4 position blade is great. after i bought this saw i used it to take down a big metal shed in 90+ degree weather and this saw didn’t skip a beat.

I’m flipping my deck boards over because the previous owner painted them and they are horrible. Some of the boards are fastened with screws that are impossible to remove. This saw has already paid for itself! It zips through the nails and is easy to handle. The 4-way blade holder allows me to cut screws in some really close places. I’m very pleased.
