It is a nice solid piece of equipment. Surprised it was not included with the saw when I purchased it(the saw). Nice width and depth of the guide. My old craftsmen saw had a 1/4 inch depth and two inch width.

This saw fence does the job but should have came with the DeWalt saw. Should not have to spend an extra $17 for the fence.

Fits securely in the slot that is in the base of the saw, and tightens down nicely. This is a good tool to use when ripping a length of board that isn’t wide enough, or straight enough, to use a straight edge rip guide.

I used this guide on the DeWalt 7 1/4″ corded circular saw with electric brake. I have use this guide for ripping strips and other scantlings for our boat building project — along with homemade aluminum and wooden fences for the project. Eureka Zone offers a better ripping guide, but it is $115 with shipping. The homemade fences work well, but using this DeWalt guide is more convenient for some cuts. The distance marks on the DeWalt guide do not take the cutout of the blade into account and seems to be 1/16″ low as well, because different brands of blades have different kerfs. You have to add that to the distance, which confuses some people. For example, my Diablo blade kerf is is 1/16″ thick — the cut was spot on at 3″ when I adjusted the guide to 3 1/8″.
