This saw works very well! I do not have strong hands, due to arthritis, but I am able to handle it just fine. I chose a corded model so as not to have the extra weight of a battery. The cord length is fine for me. The inserting and removing of the blades is simple and easy. I also like the fact that it comes with a case for storage! The only recommendation I would make to DeWalt, and other brands, is to include a cleaning brush. It would make it easier to clean the saw after use.

Well made and heavy duty build quality. Cut softwood like poplar & pine boards and plywood up to 3/4″ with no problems. Fairly easy to cut straight lines. I haven’t done anything besides normal cutting and ripping of soft wood no angled cuts. Seems to have tons of power but I haven’t tried it on sheet metal or pvc. Wood is no problem. I like that it blows air out the front to keep the sight line clear but sometimes it doesn’t completely clear it out and the line is hard to see. Wish there was either a laser line or bright white LED along with air nozzle. Hopefully this lasts me a long time which it seems like it should.

This Dewalt saw that I purchased yesterday replaces my 30 year old Craftsman jig saw. It is like night and day. Powerful, easy blade changes, minimal vibration. It’s easy to hold steady and control. Cuts are straight. The first job I used it for was to cut a hole in a hardwood floor and through the subfloor (total cutting depth 1-1/2 inches) to install an air return for a furnace. When I hit a mis-driven nail, I switch to a metal cutting blade and had no issue going through it.My only complaints are that the dust blower feature does not seem to work very well, and that the variable speed dial is integrated into the trigger instead of being a separate dial. The latter is a personal preference.The saw comes in a hard plastic case and includes an anti-splinter attachment and instructions/warranty document. Included also is a no-mar slip-on cover for the foot, which is pre-installed. Nothing else comes in the kit.

I’ve had this jigsaw about two years now, I bought it so I could have a new one that’s not all beat up like my other two. I rarely use it because ever time I do something manages to tick me off about it. The latest thing is that the main blade shaft sticks to the body so when you go to put a blade in, the lever release won’t work unless you free up the blade driver shaft. It seems as if the grease glues it to the body. I now have it all cleaned and put some oil in there and it’s mostly OK. It’s heavy, but that’s good for some projects. It’s very powerful, all good. After two years THREE STARS!
