The blade quality was excellent, but the down cutting blade was harder to use than I thought. Perhaps if it was a finer cut blade it would have been easier to control. In hind site, a fine up-cutting blade would have worked and been easier to control in my situation. However, I’d recommend some practice cuts 1st, either way.

I have only briefly tested one of the laminate down-cutting blades. The REAL test will be in a couple months when I install wood laminate in several rooms. I will use the blades for relatively short cuts — rip and cross-cut, straight and curved. However, what I’ve seen so far leads me to be completely satisfied when that day comes. The deal-maker was the down-cutting teeth, a feature that protects the laminate from splintering while allowing me to see what I’m cutting. I do wish they had been stocked at the store, however; shipping & handling were almost as much as the blades themselves.
