These should be called “polishing” rather than “grinding” wheels (at least for concrete). They do not aggressively remove material. I was hoping to remove a depth of about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of roughly 4 square feet of patio surface which had been poorly laid and does not drain properly. In all fairness, I am used to metal grinding; so that is my only basis for comparison. The price was very low, too, and they may suit other needs just fine. The HD was out of stock on 7″ wheels — which may work better.

Less than $5. Used for scraping down high spot in street gutter in front of my house. It was adjacent to accessibility ramp and would pool up every rain in the winter and every day during summer from sprinkler run off. I removed an area about 4-5 feet long by 1-3 inches wide and about 1/4-1/2 inch deep. Nearly all the pooling is gone (might spring another $5 to finish the job).
