So far I have used this wheel to grind down a high spot in my driveway that always bugged me. I ground about 3/4″ of concrete away and it only took minutes. The wheel is fast and powerful. Of course, it creates clouds of dust, but that’s to be expected. I could have used it wet to avoid that, but since it was a windy day I didn’t bother and the clouds blew away fine.I am happy to have this tool to smooth out other rough concrete patches.The only con is that it leaves grind marks in the concrete. To smooth those out I also bought a cheaper, more disposable surface-grinding wheel (the sandy-grit kind, not diamond — see my “related product recommendation”)

This is a great wheel for grinding up old thinset mortar ! I found it to be easy to control when taking thinset off of plywood, and it makes short work of it. I can’t speak for it’s durability yet, but after 200 square feet it seems like I’ve barely worn the paint off.

Concrete hardness or softness determines blade wear and what the finished product will look like after grinding. This grinding wheel left marks in the concrete but this wheel is made for aggressive removal which i wanted. Other wheels can give you a smoother finish and might have to be used in conjunction with this one to get the desired finished look.
