Comfortable to use with overmold rubber handles and a well-balanced body, the unique switch and cordset configuration allows you to keep the switch in your right or left hand, while a flat top and spindle lock further increase the ease of bit and depth changes.

The DW618 is quiet and powerful. Thus far I have only used this router to level walnut slabs, taking off no more than 1/8 inch in each pass using a 1 1/2 surfacing bit. The only distraction is the depth adjustment. While I may become more accustomed to the system as time goes on, I still find it a little clumsy But it was a great value for the money

I liked this router from the moment I got it out of the box. I like all the features on it, the ease of installing the bit, six different speed settings, removable cord. The feature I like the most is the soft start. It really is. You can have it down on your board, hit the switch and it stays on your mark.It has plenty of power, handles well. Excellent quality, especially for the price. I’m just getting a good start on building a 9×9 foot interior barn door. Using it for datoing all the frame work and panels. It comes with two collets for 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch shank bits. This router should last a long time.

I had to return the router. It was not compatible to my new Bosch router table.The Bosch instruction manual showed it being compatible but the holes did not line up with the router table plate.

I bought this tool about 1 year ago and the first 2 months everything was great until one day i was routing a dado and it all the sudden went down to the lowest speed so i checked the speed dial and it was on speed 4 or 5 cant remember but it was one of the two keep in mind this is still relatively brand new so i knew then and there the EVS (electronic varible speed) went out. one review i read had the same issue but it was only one. So i called dewalt and there customer survice was ok not great but ok, but the said i needed to take it to a qualified survice center so i took it to the mending shed in utah and they tested it and it was working fine but they said they would take a look at it. So a month or so later they called and said that dewalt replaced the EVS and i picked it up and its been working great ever since and this was about 1 year ago so i recommend it and i dont but its up to you but so far a love it its very powerful iv never had an issue with it bogging down even when routing exotic had woods but either way its a great router.

Have used it with my CNC and I am happy with the performance so far. My primary concern was the possible vibration of the collet which turned out to be none existent. I will continue to monitor this as I get more use out of it. Wear and tear will be what I keep an eye on for now. I look forward to a long life for this one.

The product is heavy duty and i expect many years of use. The instructions that came it with were a joke. It was one big pagewith tiny print in numerous languages. You expect a nice booklet with page numbers that is well laid out. For the amount of moneyi paid i expected premium instructions. Come on dewalt is it worth saving a dollar to print ridiculous instructions on one large pagethat cost a penny. Obviously the top management is not in touch with the sales on the front line.

I bought this router to replace the one I had bought previously, which was damaged when a router bit broke and fell into the running motor. The 2.25 hp motor has been powerful enough for any work I have asked it to do, and the soft start feature is outstanding, although it took some getting use to at first, but it took no more than then first few times of hitting the start button. On my previous router it had been a struggle to remove the bits from the collets, but with DeWalt’s collets removing the router bits is never a problem. This is quality tool and I would highly recommend it.
