The DEWALT 2-1/4 HP EVS Fixed Base Router with Soft Start offers all the power and versatility that professionals demand with its 12 amp motor with variable speed from 8000 to 24,000 RPM and soft start for extra-smooth finishes and exceptional performance when working with even the toughest hardwoods. With the micro-fine depth adjustment ring, you can count on accurate adjustment in 1/64 in. increments, while the clear LEXAN sub-base ensures durability and enhanced visibility. Comfortable to use with overmold rubber handles and a well-balanced body, the unique switch and cordset configuration allows you to keep the switch in your right or left hand, while a flat top and spindle lock further increase the ease of bit and depth changes.

Ordered to replace a 15 year old Porter Cable router. Couldn’t find the replacement with a Porter Cable so decided to try DeWalt as I have had really good success with that brand. I am very happy with the features such as variable speed, depth adjustment and ease of changing bits when mounted in my home made router table. Used to be a BIG Porter Cable fan but now that most of it is made in China I am swiching over to DeWalt and Milwaukee products. Things I use frequently need to be reliable and that’s why I am using these brands now.

I bought for a router table. It is stable and powerful. I like the variable speed and the ease of removing the motor.Changing bits on the router table could be easier. I usually just remove the motor. The dial for measuring 64ths of an inch is awkward. I would buy again.
