A versatile kit, both a fixed base and plunge base are included, giving you 2-tools-in-1 to tackle a wide range of applications. Providing superior accuracy, the micro-fine depth adjustment ring provides precise depth adjustments in 1/64 in. increments and adjusts vertically for a constant switch/cordset location. Loaded with ease-of-use, comfort and convenience features for increased job productivity, this router has a heavy-duty, precision machined, die-cast aluminum base and motor housing for exceptional durability and low tool weight.

purchased this router for general use DIY projects ranging from cabinetry, mortising, and trim work. I will also mention that I am not a pro at any of these things just grew up in a construction family and have been working on home construction projects most of my life.pros: having a fixed base and plunge option, that switched out rather easily. simple mechanism. soft start. easy adjustment dial. multi present depths on plunge base. removable dust collection tray on plunge base. solid construction. storage in hard case for additional bits and small accessories. can easily take motor out and affix it to either a router table or CNC machine detachable power enables ease of install on to these things and routing of cords. cons. switch location, not easy to flip switch on/off while holding router securely. changing depth of bit. found it rather difficult at time to adjust the depth of bit with adjustment dial. compared to some other models that have a rack and pin style or screw dial for adjusting. price point, this was kind of difficult to rank. there are many styles and types of routers out there falling along different price points. I felt this one was worth the little extra for the hard storage case and the higher HP. compared to others of the same power and combo this fell on the higher end of the scale with a 10-$50 dollar difference.

The router is awesome , the only complaint is that the 1/4″ collet was missing . Someone apparently opened the case and took it , and then returned it . So I went to Amazon and purchased a 1/4″ collet replacement.

I got this router combination for making jigs and wood projects. I have found it to be an excellent value and have since picked up a few Dewalt accessories for the set. One of the reasons i purchased this set was the collet system for holding the router bits ( two different sizes ). The other was the choice between a solid base and a plunge base, making this a very versatile tool. I especially loved the sturdy case that keeps everything together and easily portable.

Needed to build some round table tops and this plunge router was the tool I needed to get the job done. The router is powerful and accurate making cuts in the hard woods I was using. I had never had a plunge router before and it makes the job a lot faster and easier. I have had the router for several projects now and have nothing negative to relate concerning the tool. The instruction on the other hand are another story. The instructions fold out like a old city map. They need to make the instructions like a book. Don’t mix up the languages and the diagrams. This will help first time users. I did figure it out just sitting down and playing with it but I try to read the instructions when all else fails. De Walt makes good tools. I own several. The case is a great added plus with this router and makes storage easy. The case also holds other router bits that I have. The router does a lot of things better than my old router.
