A versatile kit, both a fixed base and plunge base are included, giving you 2-tools-in-1 to tackle a wide range of applications. Providing superior accuracy, the micro-fine depth adjustment ring provides precise depth adjustments in 1/64 in. increments and adjusts vertically for a constant switch/cordset location. Loaded with ease-of-use, comfort and convenience features for increased job productivity, this router has a heavy-duty, precision machined, die-cast aluminum base and motor housing for exceptional durability and low tool weight.

This router has good power and is easy to work with other than the fact that the stop button on the drill bit doesn’t hold near tight enough to properly screw in a bit. Luckily it is designed for use with a wrench, so I’ve been operating like that. It’s just a poor design flaw.

Never owned or used a router so my frame of reference isn’t probably the best but it is working as well as I hoped. I’m using it to flatten epoxy tables with an 1.5″ bit and it is working great so far. Only have used the plunge base with a custom subbase made of acrylic.

I researched for 2 months and decided that this was the best option for me.This router set with both fixed and plunge base was exactly what I was looking for.I also wanted the ability to use both 1/4″ and 1/2″ shanked bits. The soft start is a nice feature. The blow molded case is a bit large and could have been designed better.Dewalt rocks!

I have this combo set of fixed and plunge router. Maybe 5 years old. I only use it in my hobby shop a few times a year. Most of the time it works great. This week when I was using a quarter inch twisted spiral cutter the bit worked it way up (using it on a router table). I stopped the motor, the bit had moved up more than 1/4 inch. The first time I tightened it using the lock on the motor and a wrench. The second time I tightened it with two wrenches. The bit moved up over 1/4 inch. The third time the same, the bit moved up. I could easily turn the nut on the collet with my fingers all three times after I shut it off. The nut threads are not stripped.

I actually haven’t used it yet but I can already tell I don’t really like how the base attaches to the router. My previous router was a porter cable and the simplicity was what I liked best. I may change my mind after I start using it but at first glance it seems more complicated than it needs to be.

Love this thing. Smooth and powerful, no matter what I throw at it. I put it in my makeshift table as soon as I got it, and while I haven’t used it without the table yet, I’m sure it’ll impress me just as much when I do. I’m no pro, so this is about as much as I can tell you…it’s a good purchase if you’re looking for a powerful router to put in a table.
