The DW618PKB 2-1/4 HP EVS Fixed Base Router / Plunge Router Combo Kit with Soft Start has a powerful motor for routing through tough hardwood at the user’s desired speed. This wood router combo kit features precise depth adjustments and fast, easy motor pack removal for bit and base changes. The plunge base integral dust collection provides superior bit visibility. The DW618PKB Wood Router Combo Kit includes DW618M motor pack, DW6184 fixed base, DW6182 plunge base, 1/4 in. and 1/2 in. collets, wrench, large hole sub-base, vacuum adapter, and a soft carry bag.

- Electronic variable speed with full feedback control for constant speed under load from 8,000-24,000 RPM and soft start to reduce start-up torque for enhanced control
- 4-position orbital action provides control of cut quality and speed
- Adjustable dust blower keeps line of cut clear of chips
- Integral, through-the-column dust collection collects 95% of the dust and provides superior bit visibility
- Quick-release motor latches for fast and easy motor pack removal for bit and base changes

This is a really nice router. I bought it to replaced a single speed, 40 year old Craftsman router I had handed down to me. This router is miles ahead with soft start, variable speed, both a 1/4″ and a 1/2″ shank and an interchangeable plunge base, it’s worth every penny. It handled a 3 1/4″ raised panel door bit like it was nothing.

This is my go to router fro every wood project i have in my shop. the options are awsoome and lets you have a veriaty of condition in one single tool. weather I use the 1/2″ or 1/4″ collet, there’s no bit I can’t use on it. The plunge base is super easy to use and let’s you do outstanding projects even if yoou don’t have a router table or dado stack available. The speed wheel is accurate and easy to handle on any type of wood and yoou can adjust as you go as well. Would definitely recommend this set to anyone.

Not sure yet, only purchased a few days ago. Had one issue where the router shifted lower during operation while installed in a Bosch router table. Cause for this is yet unknown but may not be due to the router specifically.

I really appreciate having the option for a fixed or plunge router base, so i can use this on a broad range of projects. My next purchase will be a table. This is a powerful router that (with sharp bits) cuts through hardwood like butter. I love the flexibility to use 1/4″ or 1/2″ shank bits, so i can still use the bits from my old router. This is very easy to set up. Two things would have made this a 5 star router: 1- It cost me a bit of $ to purchase an edge guide, which should have come with the tool. Also, i would have preferred a hard case to the soft one. I love the tool though.
